The 'too' was meant as 'as well as'...i.e. as well as having the existing option to 'select parent', it would also be useful to have a 'select all child layers' option too. The select menu has the option to select parent, but it would be very useful to be able to go there to select all child layers t̶o̶o̶ as well. As mentioned in a previous post, if this were implemented, I don't see why there couldn't be selection variables under a 'select child layers' heading. Then you could have a number of options to suit your needs. I understand what you are getting at, but essentially I am requesting a function that doesn't appear to exist currently, so any addition here would be a plus and a welcome starting point. Like many new features, things can be added or changed over time as peoples' needs become more apparent with use...and it is unlikely that the addition of any new feature like this would be in it's best/final form from the outset.

Sorry for any confusion, mixed signals there - I was asking that question with a view to potentially use 'Select All' to help solve my specific problem, for which it did not work. In terms of what you suggested - it seems it can work for one artboard with any active parent layers (thank you for suggesting), but not further down into the specific grouped layers within the artboard, as far as I can see (which was what I was trying with regard to my last comment on the thread).

Hi Walt, Yeah, I tried this, but it still wouldn't let me resize the shapes - it just selects the group and then wants to resize the group itself, rather than each individual shape within the group. Cheers for the suggestion though.

Yeah, I get what you are saying, but I don't see why these other options couldn't also be selection variables under a 'select child layers' heading. I'm sure this would be useful in a range of scenarios, but I most recently noticed it when I was trying to select a fairly large number of grouped shapes to then use 'Transform Objects Separately' and change the size of all of them at the same time, and where 'Select Same' and 'Select Object' were not helpful. Can the 'Select All' function be modified so that it only applies to one artboard, or even one parent layer? - Could also be useful in some situations.

Request: Auto select all child layers (from select menu or right click menu) As far as I am aware, this isn't possible with a button. A click and drag is needed, which can sometimes be problematic. Thanks for the reply - I wanted to make an invoice template with the table containing all work info etc (across 4 columns), then a subtotal/total etc at the bottom, but only using 2 columns. Merge won't work I don't think, as I can't seem to remove the border for only that cell - is that possible? Otherwise, I will just have to make a separate table for the total etc and drag it into alignment with where I wanted it. Thanks.

Hi, Is there a way of removing the faint dotted line inbetween the shapes when using the polygon mode of the pen tool? It is there after export as well as when making the shapes with the pen tool (please see attached image). Thank you, Jack

Sorry Alfred, I just realised I could just make a frame cutting one shape out of the other and making it the same colour as the background and putting over the top, which should do it...but if there is a better way, please feel free to let me know. Thanks again.

Hi, Apologies if this has been asked before, but I wasn't sure of the relevant terminology, so didn't know what to search for. What would be the best way to divide up a page with diagonal lines or random areas for use with photos or other content that is contained within each of the created sections (see photo). I made this using shapes, but want to be able to contain photos etc within each of the white spaces and am not sure of the best way to achieve these 'standalone' areas. Thank you.

The freezes aren't generating crash reports as I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to force close the programme when it happens

Hi Gabe, No worries - Yes, it happens with whichever photo I am using. I have been editing in Lightroom then sending across to Photo for final tweaks then when I go to export/slice, I face this issue. It only happens when I adjust the export size of the slices though and tends to happen far more often when I am exporting more than one slice.

Hi, Photo on Windows 10 on my Dell 5570 laptop is freezing for me every time I use the slice tool whilst also setting specific image dimensions. I enter the dimensions, then the whole programme freezes, requiring me to force close it and restart it. Any ideas? Thanks, Jack

Hi Jon, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It happens with both Unsplash and Pexels - 2+ minutes of frozen affinity, then eventually the photos load. It does not happen with Pixabay though! Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, I recently purchased Publisher and have an issue when I search for stock images. They take a long time to load and then everything freezes within the programme. When I scroll the images and more try to load the same thing happens. They do load eventually but it very slow and not entirely usable like this. I have also noticed that in certain situations, similar freezes happen with the Photo app too. I am using a fairly new laptop with an i7 processor and 16gb GB ram, and I do not experience lag/freezing issues within other programmes. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.
