  1. Thank you both. "the layer selection" was confusing to me. But now it is clear to me.
  2. Open the image that you want to copy pixels from and use the Layers panel to select the pixel layer that you wish to copy from. Click the Patch Tool. On the context toolbar, select Selection is source. Drag on the image to define a selection. This will be the global source area. On the context toolbar, click Set Global Source. Open the image that you want to paint the sample into. Use the Layers panel to either select an existing pixel layer to copy to, or to create a new pixel layer. Click the Patch Tool. On the context toolbar: Ensure Selection is source is still selected. Select Global from the layer selection dropdown. Click on the image to place pixels from the source area. (Optional) Drag the nodes of the applied area to modify the scale and rotation. Alternatively, use the Scale and Rotation controls on the context toolbar, or use the up and down arrow keys to control scale and the left and right arrow keys to control rotation. I want to copy a part of a photo into another photo. Above is written how I have to do that. But I dont understand what is meant by he text in the second point of 9. Can anyone explain that to me?
  3. My Problem is: Select Global from the layer selection dropdown. In the new document I cannot Set Global Source (if that is meant) and what is meant from the layer selection dropdown?Shortly I don't onderstand what one has to do. Sorry for my quote , which was not right, because I wrote it by heart.
  4. I try to copy a part of a document into another document with the Patch tool. According to the description of Patching in the Help I have to drop Global in the Layers menu on the second document. What is meant by Global in the layers Menu? I know Global colours, but cannot find Global in the layers Menu.
  5. That"s a word I recognise. It's the same word in Dutch. It's stupid I didn't think of it en that it just was a normal typing mistake.
  6. Gentlemen, Both thanks. Hakoo's last instruction was quite clear to me and within a few seconds the language was English again. Markw the problem was: I did'nt know the meaning of the word commer and I couldn't find it in a dictionary. I regurarely am in Canada or in the States and I always use dot. Commer actualy I don't use. I never had any problem not using it. Now I learned a new word and I'll never forget it more.
  7. Hi Haakoo and Markw, The Problem is, if I start Affinity Photo from scratch, I only see one menubar instead of the two I see at Haakoo. If I click on Edit and the last line I get the emoticons and not the Preferences and General settings. If you don't mind Markw I continue in Dutch to ask Haakoo how I can get the double menubar. Of course you can answer me in English, but I can be more specific in Dutch.
  8. HI Mark, Thanks for your answer, but I don't recognise the menu. It is probably not the preference menu in Affinity Photo in the upper left corner. Can you tell me where I can find it.
  9. rule must be line. i made a mistake.because rule and line are the same word in Dutch
  10. If a person can answer my question, the best thing to do is: open the Preferences, (I know where that is) go to the xth rule, open it and look for a text with an Arrow next to it and choose (probably the first possibility = English) and click on it.
  11. As I said I cann't read Chinese. So I don't know where I can choose the language
  12. As said in the title: after I had looked for a plugin by means of the preferences, as described in the Help topic, and starting the program again because of a change all of a sudden the language after starting again had changed in Chinese instead of English. Unfortunately I don't read Chinese and I don't know how to change the language now. I allready tried to install the program, again but the language stays Chinese. Who can help me?
  13. My OS is Mac OS Catalina, so it shoudn't be a bug. I always resize my document to the paper size I want to use or crop it to to that size. Because the paper sizes always are in centimeters or inches and resizing often means a little deviaton of the paper size I have to resize the document to a smaller size. How can I prevent that deviation. Just gambling or trial and error?
  14. In spite of all the paper sizes and presets for the printer, nearly all the previews are red, but for some paper sizes. I have to look at he PDF previews to see the real colours. But these arways with border. I don't dare to print from the print preview, for in that case my red ink tank is perhaps immediately empty. And printing from the PDF preview means always a size with border. Who knows why the print preview is so often red coloured? Kind regards Carel
