Sorry, but your argumentation does not seem logical to me in any way.
So, as a long-time user, there’s nothing to complain. As a new user, there’s nothing to complain. But, oh, when you’re a short-time user – well, not even actually a “user”, merely an “owner” because you didn’t even use it after all – then it’s suddenly a crime! So what if somebody bought v1 5 months ago and worked with it, each and everyday, all day long? Well, I guess you could say he “took advantage” of the software. So basically, your opinion is that it’s Serif’s fault you bought a software you didn’t actually need.
