But they're not the same products. They are similar, and make use of the same file formats, but the desktop versions have more functionality implemented than the iPad versions, and are worth the extra cost in my opinion.

When going down that site and revealing all Features and doing a quick CTRL+F and typing in for desktop only, you get at least 53 matches of Features the IPad doesn´t have.

With the Mac version of AP V2, it just seems to work without me doing anything special. If you are running the Windows version, as you seem to be, then there may be some special procedure to get it working but I have no idea what that might be.

The same happens for me using FF10 in APh 2, Win 10.

Same issue for me - light mode only, Affinity Publisher only.

The behavior is exactly the same for me.
Both on my laptop (FullHD or 4K) and on my desktop PC (4K). Scaling is at 150% in both cases. Everything is fine in dark mode.
Only the Affinity Publisher 2 icon is affected.

Hi everyone
I've been trying to not let this get to me, but now it has become too annoying for me to not raise it. You see, the issue I have is that the Affinity Publisher icon on the taskbar is a completely different size to Affinity Designer and Photo. The icons are fine on the Start menu in Windows 11, so why are they different for the taskbar?
Hope one of the developers can take a look and amend. Apologies that it's not a functional issue but for a designer, it's just 'niggly'.

FF 9 works for me on my Mac with V2 but the final application of the filter is very, very slow. It can take up to a minute or so before it appears in the AP document, long enough that I thought the app had hanged.

For Affinity Designer to have the ability to trace images, my suite would be perfect then!
I was going to suggest auto colour in Affinity Photo  but it's always better done manually

yes I had issues with unsplash crashing  photo yesterday and today.  I would drag a photo from the stock panel into a document and the program crashed.  No opportunity to get a crash report just instantly Photo closed.

I second that rather than the OP's issues for most of the time. But sometimes the apps just close without saving or any other reaction, which is kinda annoying.

I'm also experiencing issues, although Affinity doesn't become unresponsive for me. Dragging an image from Unsplash simply does nothing in my case. There have been other reports on the forums in the last couple days so it's not only you who is having trouble. We are investigating this. Thanks for reporting it.

Did anyone see the new features of CorelDraw 2021? (AI) features of Photoshop and Luminar have been mentioned in these fora already, too... Seriously, Serif needs to pay more attention to the current versions of their competitors. I hope it's not a strategy of holding back some essential features (true vector brushes, non destructive vector warp, anyone?) for their apps in order to convince more users paying for a version 2.x. To me, personally, Publisher is still not a "real V1.x" for production rather than an advanced beta of a layout software.
I truly wish, that Serif would add some of features which have been standards for ages, sometimes decades instead of trying to add fancy new stuff. Managing the balancing act between being more inventive than others and offering at least very basic features is difficult. I get that. And by "I wish Serif would add..." I don't mean they should add any of them "for free" to the current version within a month or two. But the longer it takes to provide those features, the further away the competitors' apps will move. It's not like any of them are on stillstand. You can't get and hold customers for ages just by being less expensive. At least if one also targets for a more professional market. Time's money. A professional, who'll need plenty of time consuming workarounds in order to get his job done, will swallow the pill and move to the expensive alternatives.
It's probably way about time to move ahead and focus on the release of V2. For adding more basic features, more AI features, for earning new money for further development of their apps.
I wholeheartedly hope for this kind of progress soon-ish.

Ok I have put 1.9 back on (give it benefit of the doubt) and disabled the hardware acceleration as you suggested Mark. I thought having it ticked would be what is suggested for the update to run properly as it goes, fingers crossed mate. I'll get back with a review of how things are going

The beta forums contain fixes for most of the issues brought to our attention since 1.9.0 was released.
The most helpful thing would be to install the beta parallel to your current release build and confirm whether or not your particular problem is fixed or not.
The betas are being tested at the moment to see if they can be released as 1.9.1
