Cutting out part of a picture to use independently

A document with about 12-15 layers was using a long time to save, it seemed like it couldn’t. I ended up closing all apps on iPad and now the document is unable to open again. When I try to save the document, the app crashes. Is everything lost? I am a beginner with Affinity. Best regards, Dorthe
