  1. Thankyou for the great work in producing AFpub 2! I have been waiting for end- & footnotes since the beginning! Is it possible to stop showing respective numbers in TOC? In some documents with up to 80 endnotes, it is very time consuming to manually delete after update of TOC. Thanks and best regards, Alan
  2. Hi Walt, thanks for your speedy reaction. I am running Windows 11 on an AMD Ryzen 7 computer.
  3. I use Publisher intensively to create educational scripts - up to 120 pages. One critical document is causing problems in my latest version. 1. when trying to modify TOC (e.g. add page numbers to subtitles) the document (and Publisher) crash 2. when trying to add section the document (and Publisher) crash. First sections up to 5 created OK. I presume that I have corrupted something, but have not been able to find it. Help! I need the document for a course starting in a week! All the best Alan Comment: I moved from InDesign and love Publisher, but when wii we get Foot- or End- Notes?? ExportManager 2022-10-28.afpub
  4. Thanks for the quick reply. I am definitely using "Add Pages from File". My goal is to create "Chapters" by extracting pages from a long file (7 MB, 200+ pages). If I select any entire file to merge, the merged file is displayed correctly and saves correctly. If I select "from-to" pages only from the master file, the merged file is also displayed correctly with only the selected pages. However, when I "Save as > New File Name", close and reopen, the opened file contains the correct number of pages, but with the wrong pages. Example source file attached Workflow: Open empty file right click on Page 2 Add pages from file Select file (attached) Add from Page Numbers - 215-223 Result: see screenshot 1 Save File Open same file Content in screenshot 2 (represents page numbers 11-19 from source document) Thanks for your help, Alan 60_-_FW_Marketing_2020-08-17.afpub
  5. I am trying to create reduced specific content files from a large document. The single files will be used as chapters for future doucuments. Selecting pages using merge feature works fine and new document is shown with expected pages. However, after saving the new document and re-opening, the wrong pages appear. Number of pages is correct, but always beginning with 1st content page of original document, not the from-to pages selected for merge. Any ideas? It looks as though the reference to source document page numbers is reset during save function. This is a k.o. problem for advancing my project so thanks for any answers. Alan By the way... Exporting the merged file to PDF exports the correct pages. The problem is specifically in saving the newly created .afpub file
  6. Publisher crashes when trying to change master on multiple pages using "apply maste", "even" or "odd" pages results in immediate crash. Changin master on a single page works fine. Since I am working on a fairly long document (200+ pages) this feature is really important. A recovery file is generated, but (logically) just takes me back to before the incident. Win 10 ver. 1909 Publisher ver 1.8.3.641
  7. By the way, the program does not freeze. It is the active process of deletion and text reflowing which blocks the system. I cannot work with publisher during this time.
  8. The freezing takes place when deleting or inserting any single or multiple pages. Deleting the masters only does not cause a freeze.
  9. Thanks for the quick reply to my post. Yes, sorry, of course I did mean publisher. Deleting and inserting pages can take up to 15 minutes! I appreciate that text reflow can take a little time, but it is completely unacceptable and makes normal work impossible. The good new is: it does eventually complete. During the deletion process the CPU is running at 80% thus prohibiting work with other programs in the meantime. This was not the case with the last version.
  10. Following installation today of the new designer release 1.8.0, the software freezes when I try to delete pages - either 1 or more pages. The file is attached. I need to delete the superfluous pages following the TOC, before the content. Does the version include a footnote solution? I put together fairly long (180-200 pages) documents for educational purposes and footnotes are a real must. Given the early stage of the product I find it fantastic and have moved from InDesign although the missing footnotes make it a real challenge. 45_-_FW_-_Außenwirtschaft-_2020-02-26_Ver-3.afpub
