khdasel reacted to Ashcat in At the Rijksmuseum: Modern Art
The one at the left (the swan) is a real picture but this one I did draw it by myself in Affinity. (You can see it at the dog in the left corner in my attachment). The one at the right is an imagine of me. I often visit the Rijksmuseum and than I look into the past. One day I thought what will the Dickens people see as a modern art?

khdasel reacted to Gregory-CJ in Digital oil painting with Affinity Photo
Hi Digital Painters!,
I have been using Affinity photo for the last ~ 7 years and have tried a variety of approaches to digital painting with this software.
My latest approach which I find successful, involves three main steps.
1. Define the flat shape of the head ( in this example) using grayscale and the default digital pencils... I especially like the 4B natural pencil and the Carpenter's pencil and a few blending brushes I created by reducing the strength of the default painting brush.
2 Create the form of the head by introducing light and dark to create volume and light and shade to create the lighting/luminosity across the surface of face, again using grayscale.
3. Add color- use gradient maps as a non destructive approach to adding colour.
3b. final tweaks.
Hope you find this helpful.
All the best
Gregory

khdasel reacted to MmmMaarten in [Photo] Elephant in Float animation (with audio)
Hi,
Last weeks I've been back on drawing on paper and digital inking. And recently I started animating one frame-by-frame. This time, although not painted in Affinity, I used Affinity Photo extensively to edit, process and clean lots of frames and happily used the Export Persona to export. For these types of things there's definitely nothing easier and faster than Affinity! 😀
It's an endless loop!
Hope you like it! And don't forget to turn on the sound!

khdasel reacted to Slammer in First artwork in Affinity
I have been pottering around with Photoshop since version 1.0.7, along with Illustrator 88, along with PageMaker, FreeHand, Ventura Publisher etc.
And had me some fun along the way.
After a long time out I tried to dip my hand in PS again and found that I no longer liked Adobes finest, especially with the subscription. So I came across Affinity, the rest they say is history.
I have always had a soft spot for aircraft, especially the stringbags of WW1 and of course the achingly beautiful speedbirds of the Schneider Trophy.
So I thought my first attempt with Designer and Photo would be a WW1 bird.
The first image is out of designer, the next one is with difference clouds... sorry perlin noise and the third one is with highlighting. The next big step is cammo and I want to have it in the livery of Eddie Rickenbacker´s Niewport 28.
This is a work in progress and I´ll add on as it progresses, so let´s go for a ride.
