  1. Thank you so much! Since I use the pen tool a lot and then make brush adjustments, I didn't realize that it would affect it that way. thank you for the insight
  2. At this point, I have exhausted all options as it pertains to what is presented in this article. I have exported in all formats that retain vectors. I have tried different document setups, arrangements, splices I have tried different brushes, different arrangements. Nothing is working. Without clear instructions I find myself forced to go to illustrator to try and work from this angle. It appears that, at least for the time being, I cannot use Affinity for this specific type of animation. Thank you for the suggestion, it is unfortunate that it does not work for me.
  3. I've come to my wits end as to why this process is not working correctly. If I am unable to get this to work it forces me to purchase Adobe Illustrator as well, which I am trying to avoid.
  4. Thank you for the response. I am familiar with this article, and have tried to work with the instructions it presents. The issue is that, when I used the method described here with the EPS file type, including copying the format precepts and export information, as well as the script to 'explode' shape layers, the path lines that I drew out in Affinity Designer still came out as shapes. Here is a link demonstrating just an example of what I'm trying to do in After Effects. Link The same school of motion group presented a different article here wherein the first tip implies that there is a method by which the user can preserve paths when sending files to AE. It is unclear, as mentioned before, where i am going wrong in this process. I will edit this post to add examples of what I'm dealing with. Edit: The EPS file in Affinity Designer, with the path highlighted to show that it is in fact a line. The same file highlighted in AE, showing how it no longer has the path information, and is now fully a shape. Again, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
  5. Hello all, I've been looking for an answer to this through searching around but haven't found a clear answer, so I decided to bring my concerns here before I tear my hair out. Forgive me if the answer is simple or if I missed something obvious here. I've been interested in doing some simple, line and trim animations in After Effects based on pre-done and similar vector element in Affinity Designer. However, I'm encountering a problem in that, while I am able to export the shapes and elements to use for this process, I am unable to do the same with paths, which makes the trim path function... rather awkward to use. When I researched this, it seemed like there is a way to do this, but it was not explained clearly, so I don't know where I am making any errors. Any help would be appreciated.
