MarekGFX reacted to Patrick Connor in Preflight request
Affinity Publisher 1.8.0 should shortly introduce a new preflight-panel (which will be released in a free update if the beta testing of the feature goes well).

MarekGFX reacted to Koutchinski in [AD] Shape Builder Tool
Hey guys,
There is actually only one thing missing for me in AD. But thats a big one, especially as it speed up my process immensly since it was introduced in AI. I'm talking about the notorious Shape builder tool. Of course you could make something else, that increases the speed of boolean operations. :-) (idk, shortcuts maybe?)
Thank you in advance,
Felix

Amazing piece of work! Even if I already found some issues (most of them seem to be known, but I’ll have to check this out more closely), most things seem to work perfectly with my documents. Even text styles, baseline grids, and layer colors are transmitted. Give me footnotes on top, and I’ll never look back …

I think I would prefer them to be placed at the traditional location at the bottom of pages ....
P.S. Yes, I know there is such a thing as headnotes.

I realize this is a more general question but excitedly anticipating any kind of variable font support in this beta. Any plans for that???? InDesign 2020 now supports variables and a lot of foundries are getting into this.

I agree with this request, as I discussed in a similar post:
This was the only official response:
That was very early in the public beta phase. Also, although we were confused by the statement that "there is no way to override them," since both InDesign and Quark are able to do that, I now assume the meaning was that there was then no way to override these attributes in Publisher as it currently existed.
I am not aware of whether the developers have ever stated that it is something they would like to implement in the future.
