Update, in Affi Des 2 Export persona crashes only when you try to select another folder than the one which is opened is in save dialog window by default. In another words - it crashes when you try to select different location in finder dialog window. But it crashes constantly, all the time.

Dude.. it's the SAME issue we are having in V1 since 2021, so how about just logging it and be done with it. It won't be fixed anyways, and I am here because I just encountered this with V2 aswell. It's well known crash reports are not read, and no dev is interested in what we say. We are sending in reports, logs etc.
IT'S ONGOING SINCE 2021! WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DISCUSS ABOUT? I don't want to be rude, but with all those posts are you even reading the forums?? Because V1 page is FULL of threads regarding this issue. Just on the 1st page there are at least 3 threads complaining.
It doesn't matter what OS, what chipset are you using, if you have some sort of cloud drive app, the app will crash. ALWAYS! until you force close the app 2-3x, after that, it will work until you restart your mac again. There is no workaround, no fix, nothing. And yes I am frustrated because we constantly report this, constantlyyyyy, and here it is, one and a half year later, same issue in V2.. I'm not asking for special features, I'm (we) asking to have a normal working save function. Nothing more. So that I may save without being insecure about the app crashing or not.

Well, you can get a 40% discount right now, right? It is fair price for an upgrade. The only thing is that the discount is not privileged only to existing users but it is for everybody (including newcomers). I actually do not care if I am the only who gets the discount or everybody gets it  Or am I missing something?

My wild guess >> SF Pro is variable font. AF does not support them properly.

Joining the "export crash" crew. This is bothering me for a long time (MacOS Monterey 12.6, AF Designer 1.10.5). I literally learned to save my file before exporting files because there is 50/50 chance it'll crash. (Please, can we have some bugs related update finally?)

    @Luis Simon
I apologize if I gave you the wrong impression with my comment. Being based in Botswana (Africa), I am well aware of poverty problems around the world. I have great respect for people in such poor conditions who try to make a living with the very small resources they have. Many times, they surprise me when showing what they created.
About the subscription model you are afraid of, don't be. I use Serif software for a very long time (2009) and they where always very affordable and supportive. Also, read my suggestion again and you find out that I prefer to have two models, subscription based and perpetual. But you are correct, on first sight, it looks like I am advocating subscription based for every one, which is clearly NOT my intention. I really do regret that I was giving this impression. Be assured that I regard people like you highly with respect.
Wish you a nice day and all the best.

Whether it's 1.11 or 2.0... I don't think that's the issue. I mean, we don't know what's going on. We think there might be some big changes... or not. Or if some problems will finally be solved (bounding box, expand stroke and the other...).
I'm kind of joining the grumblers.
It's hard to project yourself in a workflow knowing that there are functions that are really missing to be efficient.
I'd like to get rid of adobe products... but today, it's still complicated to use serif products in a workflow that uses a lot of other apps like rhino or c4d.
I think that paying is not a problem. But the lack of visibility towards the future of the products. Because in the end we never know what is really planned.

    Hi,
I reached out to the FontBase team recently to ask if they had auto-activation for Affinity apps on their road map. Apparently they have contacted you guys several times about this but they haven't had a reply. FontBase and Affinity are such great pieces of software, it would be amazing if they could talk to each other. Hope something can be done.
If more users can get behind this maybe it will happen.

    Interesting thread.
    ^^ This is promising.
I personally don't expect Serif to be boasting on the forums about amazing progress. (Meh) Honest progress is all I look forward to. There are issues really itching to be fixed/added (*cough* expand stroke). All the while, being aware this program is still in its 1.x era, a foundation needs to be built to an extent, but they've provided a usable program in many use-cases for a large enough user base to at least (edit) have a stable platform to build upon. Steady progress is better than fast-paced where everything is incompetently built. I imagine most people's mentality will change at 2.x depending on what is released/announced.

I don't care about version numbers personally. Obviously we'll probably to pay for 2.0 which I think was mentioned, but I kind of expected that. The question is always: Did you get your moneys worth with 1.x? If you didn't, wait to see... anyway, I'll likely be purchasing when 2.0 is announced.

MarekGFX got a reaction from Intuos5 in Editing underline features
    Dear Affinity team,
I really like the software, the Publisher really has the opportunity to replace the Adobe package in typesetting and graphic design. I've already started making youtube tutorials for friends in Slovakia to make their transition to AP as easy as possible. On the other hand, I would like to ask about the availability of some features (or if you plan to add them in the near future).
The text underlining is currently limited to functionality that is not absolutely usable for typesetting (crossing out decenders/loops, different line width comparing to stroke etc.). Adjustment of the offset and line thickness are missing. Typically, the typographer will simply set them up to avoid these visual problems. Since these are essential requirements for using this tool, do you plan adding them?

MarekGFX got a reaction from DarkClown in Variable fonts
Even though we should stick to the original thread and I do not agree with creating the duplicate, variable fonts mess is kinda weird and annoying. Adapting the concept of variable fonts is one thing but treating them like users does not have them installed or they do not exist is another

Does InDesign already have an automatic way to deal with this, other than GREP find/replace (which of course you can do in Publisher as well)? I am unaware of it, but then I have never worked on any Eastern European language.

Is this expected to be an incremental or a full update file?
It appears a little confusing (in all 3 apps) that it starts downloading an update with ~95 MB, then extracts this, and then immediately starts another download with ~800 MB (…while a direct download is noted with 1 file below 800 MB).
