I have erased the bad text, so I cannot test your advice. I will do it when I encounter this bug again.

It does not work. When the font size exceeds about 80 pt, the spacing between adjacent text lines is fixed - it is the same regardless of the font size. It does not matter whether the spacing is set to default or any other value. Once this bug appears, there is no way to turn it off. This bug may be related to importing text from Photoshop. (I use Affinity Photo 1.10.1)

is there really no user manual to read cover to cover?
Or is the "Workbook" considered being "the manual", doubling the price of Affinity Photo?
Watching videos is extremely time consuming.

    Hello
To be frank - I don´t like video tutorials. They waste my precious life time. And they are a waste of (electric) energy.
Why? Because they don´t offer immediately what I´m looking for. Watching a video tutorial im forced to watch guys on the screen that are talking, talking, talking … but not about the items im interested in an which I need to get along with my work.
There should be at least a downloadable PDF with a detailed table of contents. In order to use software I need instructions and I need this information in direct access - and without electricity consuming internet connection.
    Regards
    Jürgen

Thanks - I find that after selecting my tool, the color I select from the wheel is applied automatically, whereas, I was attempting to first select the active color, then my tool.
I'm sorry, but the option key, in itself, does nothing on my screen even when a tool is active.
But be that as it may, I now wonder what was the purpose for the color picker anyway? I guess that's best left to another post.
    Thanks for you help.

I am sick and tired of using the color picker to select my paint color (which becomes the foreground color),
then selecting the brush icon to paint. But wait...
I have to go back and switch the background color to the foreground color.
Because when you select a tool, the app somehow thinks that you do not want to use the color that you just selected,
so it give you the other color that you did not select, to paint with.
Can someone please tell me how to resolve this issue, as preferences are pretty limited.
I merely want to use the same color I picked without having to keep changing it back and forth.
    Thank you.

Totally agree! It would be really useful to be able to animate and export simple gifs inside the software.

    Couldn't agree more.
I only just purchased Affinity Photo yesterday and was very disappointed to find no support for basic animated GIF editing/creation.

I've read a thread about a full animation system which is way out-of-scope. But, a simple layer to frame animated gif export would be handy and quite welcomed. Also completely non-intrusive.

    Thank you

I completely agree. I don't think we need anything too crazy complicated. It would be nice to have keyframe animation on a layer or group level to keyframe properties like:
X&Y position of layer (including under masks) alpha % visibility (on/off) It would let me create animations of UI elements to simulate UX, for example. It would also let me do a lot of fun simple character animation loops.

I bought a license for Affinity Designer & another one for Affinity Photo thinking that they offer animating 2D like other free or paid software (eg: Krita, Blender, PS, AI etc..) and it can be replacing them in case of working with 2D drawing and animating.
With drawing 2D its really amazing and super easy, but I found that creating animation is not available in both.
Also, I found an old article asking the same question.

Is creating an animation still unavailable in affinity designer or affinity photo? or is there a real intent to make it available?
Also, is adding a skeleton like spine will be available soon?

Note: Drawing amazing 2D graphics and animating them is already available in other free software like Blender & Krita.

This tool is extremely important for photographers, such as product photographers like myself, who need to select a color and replace it with another, specific, color (throughout the entire image).
At least 6 people on this forum thread are in need of this tool, 7 if you include me
Affinity Photo has a tool for replacing color known as "Color Replacement Brush Tool". However, this tool is not the most useful for some tasks. For instance, what if you want to replace all blue hues in an image with red? Or say you want to adjust the saturation of a specific color in the image (rather than just using HSL, which doesn't let you dial in what specific color you want to affect.. say, for instance, you have an orange color that you want to affect. Or maybe a slightly red-orange color. HSL does not let you target those colors)

I have been responding to questions on this thread right here for some time now, where a user was looking for a tool to replace color. The only solution that we've found is a lengthy workaround that involves select -> select color and then attempting to use HSL to get the desired color. However, it's near impossible to do this method with precision, and it's hard to tell just how the feathering looks when you're doing select -> select sampled color.

This is what people are asking for: a filter or something like that by which you can use an eye dropper (or choose to enter in your own hexadecimal value) as the target. Then, you can change that selected color by using either HSL sliders or by entering in your own hexadecimal value. This is how Photoshop did it (and this was by far one of my favorite features of Photoshop that Affinity Photo lacks):

Relative to the incredibly difficult features that the devs at Affinity Photo implement, I think such a replace color dialog would be rather easy? Half of it is already programmed in the "Select --> select sampled color" tool. The other half would be making that incredibly useful mask preview and adding the color replacement part.
I would be incredibly appreciative if this features was added. I am already a huge fan of Affinity Photo -- I think it does a lot of things better than Photoshop (coming from a person who used Photoshop for 7 years). However, the lack of this tool drives me and others absolutely insane. Thank you for all of your work thus far on Affinity Photo, and thank you for reading through my post!

P.S. No, the color replacement brush tool is not what we need. It's handy in some cases, but for a lot of people, it's a huge hassle compared to Photoshop's "replace color". For others, "replace color" is just about an absolute necessity.
