  1. I have a PDF with several text and graphics that are in various colors (originally an AutoCAD file, that I sadly do not have access to). Apparently Adobe Acrobat cannot export the text and graphs as pure black and white; only "greyscale" conversions appear to be available. Now Photo can easily import the PDF, but is there a procedure that can be used to convert all text and graphics to black and then export back as PDF, with no "greyscale"? Thanks.
  2. I use these programs infrequently, so I will apologize in advance if there is a simple answer. I use BluBeam at work to markup PDFs. Unlike Adobe Acrobat, you can easily highlight either text or graphics in a PDF. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all 3 Affinity applications apparently can import both PDFs and AutoCAD files. Since I do not have BluBeam at home, I was wondering if any of the 2.2 versions of the Affinity programs allow you to highlight both text and graphics (preferably on a separate layer) in a PDF. And to avoid confusion in terminology, I am talking about the ability to "draw" a line of a given width and color and transparency over the graphics/text, much light a regular highlighter pen. EDIT: The Paint Brush tool in Photo does the job with the option to select colors and transparency.
  3. Thanks I will look at it further. Jumping back on a delayed project after six months, so not quite up to speed, thanks for your input. I actually have the book sitting on my desk, but will review the link and video.
  4. I am novice at using Publisher, (as well as book design and layout) but would like to use it to layout/self publish a large (200+ page) book, with multiple chapters TOC, Appendices, index, etc. When I checked about 6 months ago, I seem to remember that Publisher was not really set up to handle blending multiple input files (such as a Word input file for each chapter) into a cohesive single document. I was planning to use Word for basic text input, then import into Publisher for final formatting, adding graphics, etc. Some of the features that (I think) Publisher does not have for such a large complex document would include automatic page numbering/updates, etc. (requiring extensive manual effort to update and coordinate something as simple as page numbers after editing changes are made), dedicated page titles for each page within a chapter etc. If I am wrong about this, please correct me as needed, but it would seem that Publisher does not have some key features that a large book consisting of multiple chapters would require. I wonder if the developers are moving towards the addition of any of these features?
  5. Many thanks for your input, I am more of a Daviinci Resolve user and only use Photo once in a blue moon, and was thinking more of the workflow for Resolve.
  6. I hate asking this, because I am sure there are already hundreds of videos and tips, but here goes. Here is what I want to accomplish, pardon the lack of use of the correct terminology: 1) Selection the profile of a person in Photo 1. 2) Replace the background with alpha channel 3) Make the profile selection of the person completely black 4) Insert the black 'cutout' of the person's profile into Photo 2. Thanks!
