And how would ppl receive a feature like the new Ai freedom gradient tool? 
I honestly never was a fan of gradient meshes cause I never ever needed them to do my illustrations at all, and when I used them all looked a bit artificial compared to my own techniques to achive this without a mesh, and  cause I'm used to work things more "freehand", but maybe if I'd try something nicely created but the Serif guys I'd change my mind, who knows... I looked into this video, and really was not very impressed or at least not as much as the ones presenting it as "awesome". Maybe some users like it?

The confusion may be related to the round color swatch previews being 2 full circles, not 1 ring + 1 full circle.

Note at 0:18 min in your video the jumping toggle of this color swatch when you switch from Pipette to Brush Tool.
It confuses me, too, that in Pixel mode I paint with the fill colour while in vector mode the stroke color gets used for a brush stroke.

The Paint Brush Tool and the Colour Picker Tool (and other tools) independently remember which one of the primary or secondary colour wells they were previously using.
If, as in your video, you are painting with the secondary colour, then activate the picker and activate the secondary colour well before picking. Now the picker will always affect the secondary colour well unless you switch it to the primary well.
Note that the Paint Brush Tool has a built-in picker that is temporarily activated by holding down opt/alt key, and that picker always affects whichever colour well is being used by the brush.

I know to have the new view option one has to be on the separated view mode.  But so many times I find myself going back to the merged mode for the sake of some order in my screen and issues with the UI when working with several monitors that end up making me tired of looking for the next UI panel hidden somewhere. If the new view was only possible then, it'll be great. And  it'd be great too being able to detatch file tabs from the UI without having to go into separate mode. I guess it might be not that easy to implement or something otherwise I am not really sure why this is like it is at the moment. Somehow it does not feel comfortable so many times working with these constraints. It's a suggestion from my own experience while painting.

I want to create a print document that is 3.5 inches x 4.75 inches. When I change the page dimensions, the Type is switched back to Photo. Why? Does the Document Type really make a difference? I don't understand what the purpose is, or why it won't stick once I choose the Type. If I change it back to Print, all my settings are reset and I have to start over again.

I really would like to have a way to link layers, so that they fx. move together when you select and move just one of them.
Group does not always work for me as I need other layers between.
 

Scientific illustration: Entomology. (Papilio machaon).  I have used 3 brushes, vectors & bitmaps. I also experimented how nicely the expand stroke feature works (antennas). No, because I have System Preferences set to use the Light appearance, my macOS menu bar items show dark text on a white background, just like yours do. But for example, File > Open or File > Save in the Affinity apps opens a window with a black background & white text, unlike any other app installed on my Mac that uses the standard macOS interface for file system access.
For example, I get this in AD:

In my other apps the same folder looks like this:

I would much prefer the light background with black text for these windows, & also for application dropdown menus like for the Snapping options. As I understand it, Preferences > User Interface when set to "Default OS" should do this, but it does not.

There is in Mojave a third option in Preferences > User Interface for "Default OS" but even if System Preferences > General is set to Appearance > Light, almost all of the Affinity menus, panels, & windows still use the Affinity dark UI. The staff have mentioned that this may be a bug or changed in the future but there is AFAIK no more info about it than that.
The only exception I know of is in Preferences > User Interface there is an option near the bottom for "Always use white background for Font dropdown." Personally, I would prefer it if that option applied to all dropdown menus, & to Open, Save, & Save As windows, not just the fonts dropdown.

It's probably due to the fact that you can control the AD look independently from the OS setting, meaning here, even you may have set your OS (Mojave) overall to light mode, a bunch of apps have and do still their own color theme settings. Thus you can run Mojave overall in light mode but AD will be still in dark mode (which is the apps default setting if not changed in the AD prefs).
