There's a major bug. But I usually use Inkscape instead. It has all the functions that Affinity has.

There is no annual or any other kind of subscription for the V2 apps. All are one-time purchases, not subscriptions.

Cool, thanks anyway, when v1 expires, I may look for alternatives, since v2 is not free & has annual subscription...

I was saying that ~ I figure since Version 2 costed money after I purchased Version 1 awhile back, then I figure Version 3 would also cost money.
That's why I figured that there's an annual subscription fee... (Version 2, Version 3, Version 4 ~ ETC.)

Which means that it has annual subscriptions... I've noticed the date that I underlined in red. See Pic.

Hi. I already purchased Affinity Photo, Designer & Publisher awhile back... I was wondering why updates cost money even though I already purchased Affinity?

Cool, thanks. Will do. When I have enough, I will purchase V.2 in Microsoft Windows Store.
    It will be a while.
Oh, will this also happen on every version "V. 3, V.4 etc.." in the future?

Where are the beautiful days? Where are the sleigh rides till dawn? Where are the tender moments of splendor, where have they gone?
Because I had to move due to a fire making our building uninhabitable, I am actually finding many things I forgot I had (and cannot find things I know I have). One of them was a photograph of me  and of a friend from our visit to a TV station. That was in 1993, when I was 43.
I scanned a small part of the picture at 2400 ppi and 48 bpp to an uncompressed TIFF using my Epson V750 Pro scanner. The result had many blemishes, so I cleaned the scanner glass with compressed air (the scanner had been inside a storage place ever since the fire until now) and took several other scans. That helped, but there was still a dust hole in the scan, plus two scratches.
I opened the result in Affinity Photo and applied Filters/Noise/Dust & Scratches... That removed the dust very nicely, but there still were two scratches. They were on the shirt, so it would not be the end of the world if I could not remove them. But I noticed AP has a Blemish Removal Tool. I used it on the two scratches. At first it just broke the scratches into smaller pieces and moved those around, but eventually it removed the scratches altogether.
The result looks pretty good, especially considering it is a scan of a small region of a photo print for which I do not have the negative.
I exported it to another TIFF, and also to JPG with both, the height and the width, reduced to 50%:

But yes, where are the beautiful days? Why do we have to get old?

Again original vector drawing made in XARA Xtreme 5.1, heavily post-processed with the wonderful AP
Front flag, Frontwheel cover and rear canvas all done in Liquify Persona and "dodge"d and "burn"ed later...
Look here for a similar drawing.

Serif generally don’t tell us when updates will happen – it’s mostly a case of “They will be ready when they are ready”.
By doing this they lessen the amount of complaints from users if something was ‘promised’ for a certain date and it gets delayed for whatever reason.

    Hi,
I would love to be able to import blocks from CAD files (DWG/ DXF/ 3dm) as symbols.
That way, I could severely reduce the file size and it would be a huge workflow improvement over Adobe Illustrator, because Illustrator is not capable of importing blocks as symbols either.

mpowell reacted to Frozen Death Knight in Can we get a Spiral Shape Tool and a 3D Box Shape Tool?
I like the current Shape Tools in Affinity as of now, but two that I feel are missing from the toolbox are a Spiral Tool and a 3D Box Tool. Here's one example of a project where I needed a spiral in particular.

The design for this I did mostly all inside of Affinity, but I had to move over to Inkscape to get the spiral shape because I realized that I had to do this manually in Affinity to achieve the same thing. Seems like a pretty useful feature, especially if it also allows jagged spirals and custom shapes. That way one could make even more complex spiral shapes than just a regular spiral.
Another shape I would love to see is a 3D Box that can do perspective. I have been able to do this a bit by combining a bunch of shapes and masks to achieve a similar effect, but having a properly supported tool for this would be even better. Inskscape has a tool like this, so that's a good place to look for inspiration!

mpowell reacted to Nils-Petter Olsen in Brush context bar: Add ability to rotate brush tip (without editing brush).
Hey. Just more and more finding my place in AP. Just so clean and easy. Even got it stable now, with acceleration. (Maybe it was the newest NVIDIA driver that did it?? Or your newest build??).

Aaanyway - I am emulating RL drawing alot. And your calligraphic marker brush preset rocks, especially when set to 50 % opacity, and drawing on a layer with "darken" blend mode.
Only thing is, when drawing with brushes with tilt rotation. It really puts a strain on your hand, twisting it to get your thick/thin lines right.

Solution (drrrrum rrrrroll): One small button for left rotation of brush (or tilt rotation, whatever), and one for right! With possibilty for keyboard shortcut, so it can be easily and without delay rotated while drawing! Possibly another button for rotation reset.

If it takes too much space on the context toolbar, could it be added as a dropdown menu choice?

No more shoulder pain, no more wobbly lines trynig to draw in ridiculous angles! You should take ergonomy seriously - you should take care of us poor artists questionable muscular health!!
    --------------------
And please, pretty pretty please, make the brush tip stop rotating along with rotating the view!! It is so hard trying to figure out how the stroke is going to be when you rotate your paper to draw better lines, and the brush rotates along with it! Totally very unintuitive - in RL you would go mad if your marker automatically started to rotate when you rotated the paper

PS: This last request doesn't even add anything, just a simple, and very sensible, change of a function!

BtW. Have I told you Affinity people that i really love AP?

Cool, did a photo manipulation in Affinity Photo. It's a huge bowl in the middle of a hallway.
    I used the following;
Perspective mesh on the bookshelves on the wall. Pasted the bowl image on a different layer. Used color curves to match the hallway atmosphere. added the shadow on the bowl to match the lighting. I drew the square hole in the ground by hand.

mpowell reacted to Intuos5 in Angle constraint/ snaps for accurately creating inclined lines and rotated shapes
In illustrator and Blender, you have various options for rotation snapping or angle increments that make it much easier to immediately draw inclined lines and shapes based on 10/ 15 / 30/ 45 degree increments (or user specified). It is particularly convenient that it does not require a grid to be set-up in advance. While this is hidden in the preferences menu for illustrator, Blender places the options in the top toolbar and has the option to open the menu with a user-configurable shortcut to immediately change the increment angle. This is illustrator shown below.
Furthermore, this concept could be expanded to draw shapes at an angle (optionally with the constraints active), as is shown here in Krita:
