  1. What could happen is that you loose your 'favourites', the font that you have indicated in Affinity as a favourite. Or, if you have made a change to the 'default' setting (replaced Arial with another font).
  2. Well, given that many people in the forum have been able to learn how to work with it …
  3. No shortcut on my Mac and I certainly didn't remove it (I double checked by assigning it Cmd+Alt+Shift+R, which I may had used for something else, but there's no duplicate assignment)
  4. That's exactly what I did. And then I made some adjustments to not get a fully mirrored left hand side.
  5. Haha. Yes, I do, and probably you're right. But also, the original poster could learn from this by looking at it and use it as a starting point for further work.
  6. In general it's up to the developers to determine if it's about time.
  7. The specs of my machine are similar. I don't encounter performance problems when applying a gradient layer. The only thing I noticed is that the gradient doesn't respond at all when I move the midpoint slider.
  8. Rumour has it that 1.9.4. is going to be a major release. 😀
  9. But, now that 1.9.3 has been released without any beta versions, may we expect that the next beta that shows up will provide the answer?
  10. About the biohazard symbol on wikipedia: "We wanted something that was memorable but meaningless, so we could educate people as to what it means." Apparently Serif is successful in taking the same approach.
  11. Try holding the Option/Alt key, at least on Mac.
  12. Probably, the requirement is going to be 'lightweight, but offering exactly the features in Acrobat I love to use'. On Mac, Preview is a lightweight tool, but not good enough, I expect.
  13. Same here as evtonic3, also on macOS. Can't find a preference or setting that could influence this (I tried Auto-scroll to selection in layers panel, but nope).
  14. Shame that the developers didn't respond, although I haven't heard their side of the story, of course. Anyway, this is the preference setting in Typeface for Mac. Nothing specifically done for Affinity, it seems, just for Adobe. Therefore, I'm still wondering if any action is needed on the side of Serif. It could be a Mac related thing, e.g. that any app which wants to do it can somehow activate a font with little effort.
  15. In this post Aymanzone shows that he's in the pixel persona of AD. He only calls it Affinity Persona.
  16. I can't see in your Layers panel, but could it be that it's an image layer rather than a pixel layer? If that's the case, right click on the layer and rasterise before doing the flood selection.
  17. Yes, it's German with a Swiss accent. I wouldn't be able to understand real Schwyzerdütsch, or whatever they call it. At his current speed I, as a Dutchman, can perfectly follow him, so it is appreciated.
  18. Don't know how good your guys' (Swiss) German is, but Michel covers this type of issues in his videos on YouTube.
  19. Typeface indeed is Mac only. Typeface does have the ability to auto-activate fonts in Affinity products. I don't know if Serif has done anything particular to make that possible, so I'm wondering if your request should go to Serif or to the developer of FontBase?
  20. Maybe the answer, but not the (real) solution. I hope that it will be addressed by the Serif team. Still there in 1.9.2.
  21. I noticed that reducing the hardness from 100% (right) to 99% (left) already makes a big difference. 100% gives an ugly result. 16px brush 64px brush
  22. There are a few posts on YouTube, whereby comparisons are made between various tools, including from Adobe and Topaz. One post I've watched is by Olivio Sarikas, who's delivered quite a few tutorials for Affinity products. The other one is by Robin Whalley, who's also delivered videos around Affinity products. Interestingly, they come to different conclusions about Adobe's and Topaz' performance. Anyway, it would be nice if Serif could also deliver this type of functionality, since apparently it can enhance the quality of your images. A number of the competitors, not just the above mentioned, already have this.
