  1. By the way, i'd like to add that i really like how AD made it possible for me, as an absolute beginner in vector drawings, to re-create this logo. Ronnie McBride's training course and the AD Review eMagazine also helped.
  2. Thanks for this. I now understand this is about snapping candidates, that there's a limit of showing 6 at the same time, and that locked objects can't be added (for which i didn't have any intention anyway). I had already concluded that everything worked as expected, i just didn't understand the indication for snapping candidates.
  3. Dave, MEB, Thanks for your response to my questions. The information provided makes sense. I've attached the original file. Action.afdesign
  4. Hi, I'm in the process of re-creating a company logo as a vector drawing. I've done so by taking a bitmap of the logo (which by itself is skewed), putting the characters upright (by skewing in the opposite direction in AD), drawing the characters using the Pen tool, and, finally, skewing the logo back from its upright position to the original position. This worked quite well and i'm happy with the result. One thing that bothers me is that some of the elements have a purple outline while others haven't. I also noticed that the purple outlines remained in their original upright position. I'm wondering what this is? I've seen before in AD that these purple outlines are there, but having seen this behaviour i'm really confused. Who can help?
  5. Hi, When i've drawn something and i want to copy-paste into another app (e.g. Keynote), i use Cmd+C, Cmd+V to do this, but the result is that only a (in my eyes arbitrary top-left corner) slice of my drawing is pasted. This happens, even when i rasterise the drawing first. When i do the same but copy into a new AD Document, everything is pasted. Copy-pasting into Pixelmator (which i did to test this) doesn't give a result at all, even when rasterised. Is this a setting somewhere?
  6. Dutch, I came here for exactly this topic, how to import the brush. I was familiar with importing categories, but in the case of this file (arrow brush.afdesign) it doesn't seem to work. I can't select the file when i go there via Import Categories. I can double click the file in the finder, after which it is opened in AD as a regular image. And thank you, Ronnie, for sharing this!
  7. This is a very nice palette. Thanks for sharing!
  8. By the way, i've noticed that moving Keynote shapes to AD also has limited use. I haven't been able to do anything sensible with them.
  9. Looks like in Keynote there's a difference between a (vector) image and a shape. Shapes, the ones you create in Keynote, can be made editable, images can't. Not sure if it's a big issue. For now you have to make your edits in AD and as long as you can export them to Keynote without them loosing fidelity it's OK (to me at least).
  10. I have toned down the colors myself by going to System Preferences - General and selecting Graphite in the Appearance drop down. I've also taken a custom greyish color as the Highlight Color.
  11. I'm a Mac user. For me the priorities when purchasing software are simple: Mac only software Mac first software - Means i was happy to purchase Affinity Designer.
  12. +1 for this feature. I've just installed this package. Never before i've seen such a beautiful user interface for this type of software. Maybe a bit strange to start requesting features only hours after installation. This feature however is what i've been looking for and which actually made me discover Affinity Designer. Would be nice to have it in a future version.
