Hi, As always, in this period of the year I am busy to make the new brochure for our puppet festival. Today I did a print test and a color gradient (only this) It turned dark. This strange color issue is only if I print from Designer; if I export a pdf or a jpg and I print it, the color is correct. Anyone can explain me why? ciao Paolo

Hi, I am happy like a child! Finally I can create print press ready files an I can import my old Illustrator projects on AD. You guys are my heroes! OK, there is only some little problems: :P - if I export on PDF/X-3 the shadows and the colors are OK, but if I export on PDF/X-4 the shadows and the colors are wrong (see images). - I open my Illustrator file and AD recognize correctly the CMYK endebbed color profile, when I export it on PDF/X I select, in the advanced preferences, to use the file color profile; but when I open it in Illustrator (CS 5.1) it say me that there isn't any CMYK profile (see image). Same if I chose, always on the advanced pdf prefereces, my desired color profile. - I receive two warnings when I open this pdf's on Illustrator (see image). OK I try to traslate: first "I found an unknown shadow" - second "I found an unknown imaging construct"... Bye Paolo

1 - yes sometimes, with some external printers, it's a problem. If possible the best is to chose only the crop marks. 2 - great! 3 - thank's for the clarification 4 - I understood Thank you for your answers, on any new beta I love this program more and more.

(and Illustrator is closer to the trash) OK, some questions: if I export in pdf (PDF/X-4) all printers marks are added, but is possible to add only the crop marks? (no name, date, hour, and so on) Is it possible to view the bleed in the canvas? What is the "Allow advanced futures" check box? Good morning everyone, I have experienced crash exporting on pdf-x 4 format. Try this: create a new document, make a rectangle (half in and half out the canvas), try to export as pdf-x 4 and AD 1.3.5.7 crash always. I have not tried with other pdf formats. Bye Paolo

You can enable the three fingers gesture in the Accessibility pane (I don't know why Apple have moved this gesture here...)

I send you the original watermelon moon file to your support address. I don't know if this have a relevancy, but in my preferences I have set the "Coated FOGRA27 (ISO 12647-2:2004)" CMYK profile. Paolo

Hi beautiful people, I try to test the pdf-x export on the new beta (1.3.5.1). The test is made with my draw (img1) there is whats happen: 1) If I select pdf-x 1a or 3 or 4 and I open the "more" panel and I make any change in this, AD don't export the pdf. 2) If I export to pdf-x 1a or 3 there is a strange rectangle on the moon nose (img2). 3) If I export to pdf-x 4 there isn't this strange rectangle. 4) If I open the pdf-x 1a or 3 or 4 with apple preview the colors are OK (img2). 5) If I open the pdf-x 1a or 3 or 4 with Illustrator CS 5.1 the colors are totally wrong (img3). cheers Paolo

The shadow is to much bigger and the style do not reflect the style of the user interface. If you whant to use more flat style you need to change all the tools icons.

Another thing, when I open this pdf (in Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer) the preview have strange colors... is because it is a pdf-x?

Good morning to everyone, I have imported in APB my work in PDF and cropped it for making a banner to use in a mailing list (fig1), but if I try to print this banner the printer dialog have a 114% scale and the preview shows me that crop is not in the correct place (fig2). I missed something or is it a bug? and speaking of crop, the file was not really cut out (is because it is a PDF?), in fact all the elements are still present. How can I trim the file permanently? I am always happy when a new beta comes, new features, bug fixes, etc. For me is like a gift. But this time the beta delete all my preferences, there is no more file thumbnails and Apple quick look don't show me more the file preview and it's a little bit unstable. Have you made some important code changes?

You need to convert the text to curves: Layer>Convert To Curves But if you convert the text to curves, its not editable anymore. Personally when I made a project with text I duplicate it, one file is with the text editable (for changes and possible corrections) and one is all vector (good for scaling, sending to others or for external printing).
