Here you will find the same issue. It seems a basic error in Affinity Photo. (Windows and iOS)

Hi MEB, Thank you. I tried the Windows 10 version. It shows the same effect. Start with a new document 3x3 pixels Then select all (no marching ants top and left), shrink/grow -1 and you will end with a 2x2 selection. With marching ants on 4 sides. You should end with 1 pixel! MacOS Mojave Affinity Photo 1.7.2 Start with a new document 7 pixels wide and 5 pixels height. Select all. (Missing top and left marching ants!) Then grow/shrink -1 px. Result bottom picture. Deselect all. Select all. Then grow/shrink -2 px. Result top picture. This issue has been mention in other topics but has not been resolved.
