@LeeThorpe Hi I tried the safe settings, but same problem. Falling behind on work, I went for the nuclear option: I reinstalled MacOS and then Publisher. As before it worked fine, but then after a few hours it started crashing again. This time, I used AppCleaner to delete all the Publisher files in the MacOS library. That seems to work but then again after a few hours the crashing returns. I notice that when it crashes, it sometimes corrupts files. On the dropbox link, I have put a 34.5 MB Publisher file (titled Fun-Arithmetic-COVERS). It was originally a 7.8 MB file in Publisher V1, but every time I open it in V2 it balloons it up to 30MB+, even when I don’t make any changes. The version I have uploaded is a corrupt V2 version as it will no longer open. To this post, I have attached all the crash reports that are generated by MacOS each time Publisher crashes. I would be grateful if you could look into the matter. I was really excited to get Publisher 2. But now it feels a bit like playing a game of chance where you don’t know if it will crash and your work will be corrupted! Thanks for all your help so far, and thanks in advance that this problem can be fixed. I don’t think linked files are the issue, as I created a brand new file in V2 that had no linked images. I shall try experimenting with the hardware acceleration first. Do you know which are the safest settings to start with? Maybe I can start with the safest settings first and then expand to isolate the issue.

It happens with both V1 files and brand new V2 files I made. Attached are the crash reports. (Both are from using Affinity Publisher 2, but one is with a file created from V1 (but saved as a V2 file and then reopened) and the other is a test file made natively in V2). Hmmm... Could my different results be related to the crashing. Everything was working fine until mid-way through this morning! Apub - V1 Crash Report.txt Apub - V2 Crash Report.txt

@LeeThorpe I assume by original you mean Version 1 file. I have uploaded it. The V1 file is 7.8MB When I opened it in Publisher 2 earlier today, it became a 170MB file. Although it didn’t happen straightaway, but after I had made a few text changes. However, I just tried it again, and it's only a 27MB file. Which isn't as bad, but it does seem like quite a big jump from 7.8MB. I am still having issues with Publisher crashing and hanging, so should I reinstall? if so, what's the best way? Thanks!

I have been using Publisher V2 since yesterday. But now it has become very unstable. It keeps on crashing. And on the rare occasion I manage to save a file inside Publisher V2, the file size becomes ridiculously large (e.g. jumping from 9MB to 170MB). I have tried restarting MacOS several times to no avail. How can I trouble shoot this? Or am I better just deleting Publisher and reinstalling? What's the best way of re-installing publisher? Do I just drag it to the trashcan or is there a better way? Environment: MacOS 12.6.1 on Intel MacBook Pro Publisher downloaded from Mac App Store.

@Pauls @Dan C This still seems to be an issue in Affinity Publisher V2. However, it only seems to happen if the color space is changed when exporting a PDF. (For example, when exporting a PDF, if I select Color Space: As document, it seems to be fine. But if I select Color Space: Gray, the problem occurs. Should I start a new thread for it in the V2 forum?

I've been opening some of my older Affinity Publisher 1.10.5 documents in Affinity Publisher 2.0.0 Most of them open fine. But some cause Publisher to crash. As in past versions of Publisher, the work around is to copy the document to another directory and to open it from there. And then save over the original document. However, this is an annoying bug, so it would be nice if it could be logged and fixed.

I bought V1 directly from Serif, rather than the Mac App Store. I partly regretted it, as the Mac App Store makes it so much easier to update apps and also do family sharing between systems. With V2, it looks like you can download the apps from the Mac App Store, and then you enter your licensing details. If you buy the License from Serif, then will the apps still update via the Mac App Store? Or will you to update from inside the App (like with V1 when you bought from Serif) Also, are there any dis/advantages to buying a universal license direct from serif rather than the Mac App Store? If you buy a universal license from the Mac App store can you still activate on Windows? Thanks!

On the Affinity website it says that for £80, you can get the universal license that has the full Affinity suite (including Publisher for iPad!) on all your devices, across macOS, Windows and iPadOS. On this page it says the universal license is available from the Mac App Store. However, I've tried searching the Mac App Store, but it only has the stand alone apps. I can't see an option to buy the universal license for £80. Thanks for any help. I've tried searching, but it's not very clear.

Affinity V2.0

Out of interest, what is triplet? Thanks! EDIT: Wait, I see: It's shorthand for the 3 Affinity apps. -
Affinity V2.0
big smile replied to Brian Lucas's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
So excited! Affinity is awesome, and a new version would be amazing. However, I hope they fix the bugs. Version 1.10 introduced bugs which destroyed my workflow and they've been unaddressed since Sep2021. Hopefully this new version has these bugs fixed. -
In Affinity you can open a multi page PDF and manipulate the contents of the PDF. But is there anyway to place a Multi page PDF and then use the master pages to fiddle with the positioning of the placed pages (so they are all affected in one go)? For example: If I wanted to move all the pages 5mm to the right, I could create a picture frame on a master page, and then place my multiple page PDF so every page is automatically placed on the picture frame of a master page. Similar to how Affinity automatically adds extra pages when you place text via a master page text frame. After researching this, I think the answer is no. But I thought I would post anyway, just in case anyone has a clever work around!

The layer panel in Affinity Designer allows you to toggle the visibility of layers by clicking the check box that is placed on each layer. I am currently duplicating some symbols. I find that if I uncheck the layer box on the layer of symbol to turn off its visibility, then all duplicated symbols disappear, even those duplicate symbols that are on separate layers (their layer check boxes will automatically uncheck). Is there anyway to stop this, so I can turn off the layer visibility of one symbol without the other duplicate symbols layers automatically turning off? Thanks!

Linked Publisher documents get displayed as blank pages

@Pauls @Dan C Just so you know, this is still an issue in 1.10.5. I'm guessing there's no news, but just reporting it in case it helps -
I waste a lot of time on deleting unwanted styes, and I am not even pasting from Word. I just paste between Affinity Designer documents! I can understand Word confusing Affinity, but why does it get confused with it's own Affinity style sheets? Surely it should know that if text is being pasted and it has the same style as the target document, then it must be the same style!
