......... By the way, I also notice that whilst recording a macro the context menu in the layers panel is unavailable.  I cannot right-click and select duplicate.  Of course I can duplicate with a keyboard shortcut or from the main menu so it isn't a big issue for this exercise.  Just noting it.

I have a simple process for creating luminosity masks for my editing.  It involves repetitive steps creating and renaming spare channels.  However if I try to record a macro of these steps the macro fails to recognize the renaming step, indeed so does Affinity, and I am left simply with several channels called 'spare channel' and I have no way of knowing which one is which.

Is this because the renaming is done via a modal dialog box?  Is there any alternative way to rename a channel that will work and be recorded?

[How to merge three raw files manually]

Hi, Can anyone help me find the best way to merge three (bracketed) raw files without using the automatic hdr process.  I would simply like to use my own masking process to create the result.  Must I process the raw files first then load tifs into a stack?  Or is there another way?
