  1. Yes I have had the same issue again!! Same thing happened for the previous update. This time the same fix doesn't seem to work. Obviously serif haven't done anything about sorting it out!!! Luckily had a copy of 1.7 which I managed to load on another directory and get access to my files. Seriously looking a dumping the program, can't afford to have this happen on every update!!!
  2. Yes I had full access to every other folder, it was just the Affinity folder which was blocking me
  3. I used this process https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/take-ownership-folder-windows-10-using-file-explorer This helped me to regain control of the Affinity folder, which somehow I had lost via by doing the update (the update gave ownership of the folder to SYSTEM). The log file was saying that I could not access the folder (even though I am Administrator), therefore the update was failing. It would not let me rename the folder or re-direct the install to another folder. Once I regained control, I deleted the folder , not sure if that was the right thing to do - could have just tried to install (I was just frustrated by then). After deleting the folder, the install went through fine, and I had access to the newly created Affinity folder. Hope this helps.
  4. UPDATE - Finally got it work!!! I managed to (after lots of searching online) change the ownership of the Affinity folder and deleted it. Then the Install went through fine. It seems the update did something to the folder which locked it. Not good, never had this happen with any other program update. Just lost a whole days work! Thank you to everyone who helped me. Serif need to sort this out.
  5. Its not allowing me to rename or delete the folder, its saying I need SYSTEM permission. Have already to bypass this. I am logged in as Administrator. Also I have tried to install it into another new directory which also didnt work.
  6. Just done that. Tested "C:\Program Files\Affinity\Publisher" It said - No processes locking this file or folder have been found
  7. Just tried restarting and running as administrator and got 'Setup Faile d' again. Attaching logs again Setup.log SetupUI.log
  8. SetupUI.logSetup.log Thanks Just read the log file and it says User is not and administrator. But I am logged on as an adminstrator
  9. Hi. I am getting the same issue after downloading the update. Have just lost access to days of work on an urgent report. I am logged in as an Administrator, I have used the 'Run as Administrator' option I have restarted the pc, tried reinstalling older version, nothing is working! Just keep getting message 'setup failed'. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
