  1. It’s a security risk to be running W7 “security updates and technical support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, 2020.”
  2. Recent purchasers have reported receiving emails from Serif regarding this. I’d keep an eye on your inbox.
  3. "After rebooting the system, "hide" the uninstalled update(s) from Windows so these updates do not automatically show up again in the future." Can someone explain how to do this with Windows 10? The websites I have seen refer to wushowhide.diagcab and this cannot be downloaded in Edge or Chrome on my PC.
  4. Sadly not -Why have all Microsoft download links for wushowhide.diagcab been broken for many months? - Microsoft Community Hub "Can't be downloaded securely."
  5. I have now found KB5017262 on my system and have uninstalled that to see if it resolves the issue.
  6. An update to Windows 10 has meant meant that the Resource manager is crashing again. I checked the updates but non of the affected updates listed above are installed so I do not know what to do. Are there other updates that I should be installing?
  7. Does anyone know if the hide updates method posted on https://pureinfotech.com/show-hide-updates-windows-11/ works on Windows 10 or knows of an equivalent?
  8. That post refers to font drop downs which is a different issue to the one I mentioned however I can understand why it could be related. Unless the crash becomes more problematic aka frequent, I will leave things as they are and await your fix.
  9. Load of document > Missing Resource(s) > Resource Manager > Highlight missing image > Replace... > Locate image Publishers closes without saving and on reopening does not given option to recover file. However, if I locate in document and use the manual replace option from the toolbar, it does so without error. Are you using the latest release version? 1.10.5.1342 Can you reproduce it? Yes until I saved the file so sadly I cannot reproduce 😞
  10. Presumably this method allows you to backup all the assets from the whereas exporting the assets from the application (using the hamburger menu) would have to be repeated for each category?
  11. It came as a surprise to me when I first started using Designer as I had/have many DrawPlus files. In theory I could save as PDF and use that to transfer them, but the reality is that I normally just edit them in their original format with the original software. Let’s face it, if an importer wasn’t provided when Affinity came out 7 years ago, it’s not going to happen now.
  12. As an aside, I have just uploaded a couple of icon images to a couple of Wordpress sites that I maintain. I used png files and they display fine. I also remember years ago, simply renaming a .bmp file .ico
  13. I’d take it to your local computer store or hardware/repair/recycle centre to see if it can be saved but it sounds to me that it has reached the end of its lifetime.
  14. When importing text I use plain text and apply styles in Publisher for this reason.
  15. I sometimes think I should use Art text rather than frame text when creating captions around images. I used to use an asset with a picture frame and frame text pair but often I find myself creating the two from scratch so I wonder why I bother.
  16. I still use DrawPlus from the Serif Plus range to open legacy files and do the odd image trace.
  17. Presumably because the new style isn't based on the previous style. If you base the new style on the style that has tabs set, then these would carry over.
  18. I would set up a base paragraph style with the required font etc. On your master page, highlight the placeholder text on the master page and apply the base style. If you already have text in pages then highlight all text and apply the base style. I'd also update defaults and save your settings.
  19. No-one but I think the alert source was the survey Serif produced a few weeks ago which mentioned a subscription model.
  20. Nottingham is a good place to get beer, probably only beaten as the beer capital by Derby or Sheffield. https://whatpub.com/search?q=Nottingham&lat=52.9534&lng=-1.1495&r=10&t=t&p=1&home=1
