LEB reacted to delbot in QR generator and watermaking for Affinity Publisher V2
Meant to post this link a couple of months ago, while looking for a solution within affinity,
as this will work as an interim solution - combining inkscape and affinity publisher [+ found it very stable]:
https://gitlab.com/moini_ink/vcard-qr-code-creator
it is an update of an older plugin but not maintained or updated for a while
https://inkscape.org/~sergey15th13/★vcard-qr-code-generator
.delbot

LEB got a reaction from Suzy Mordecai in Inconsistent updating of style changes in the table of contents in AP 2.4.0
Hi,
I noticed the following bug on AP 2.4.0 on MacOS:
Create a table of contents in a document Edit the style of one of the entries from the Text Style studio (modify [FR : Modifier [style name]) Changes are taken into account immediately in some cases (e.g. bolding), but others requiring refreshing the ToC (e.g. changing the font colour). This inconsistency seems a bug to me.
Edit: Actions edited for clarity.

LEB reacted to Oufti in Possible bug regarding numbering in AP 2.4.0
It seems here that problems arise when the style is modified (to be numbered) only after being applied to different unlinked text frames.
Following exactly the process above results in the same unexpected behaviour.
Here is the file resulting (historic saved inside):
Numbered list test.afpub
P.S. Closing and reopenening the file seems to correct it…
P.P.S. But if you step back in the Historic of the joined file and redo "Modify the style", you'll see the unexpected behaviour.

Yes to this and I would love a barcode generator to be added to Affinity Designer. Important for book covers.

LEB reacted to thomaso in Adding not exported text blocks or layers in Affinity Publisher
If you want to see the comments in the layout window you can add text frames placed in the pasteboard area left/right of a spread.
Or you add a complete extra page or spread for comments. I use this method when I want to keep track of different stages of a project, with a new section for correct page numbering if necessary. This way I store a layout history in just 1 .afpub (with increasing page counts over time), along with the additional pages as visual separators with my notes, customer feedback, in-/out-dates and delivered file names.

LEB reacted to wonderings in QR generator and watermaking for Affinity Publisher V2
QR Generation integrated in with Publisher would be a nice feature. Yes you can create QR codes elsewhere, but can you create QR codes based on variable data? Not all QR codes are common in their use. I have a few clients who generate QR codes based on data, so each piece addressed to a person will have a different QR code, or for business cards when scanning the QR code it adds their contact info. This can all be done through a data merge and because Indesign has QR creation it can be done directly with the data, no manual creation of the QR code for each name.

I would like to suggest some things which could be beneficial added to affinity publisher:
- QR code generator
- watermarking

LEB got a reaction from Hangman in Inconsistent updating of style changes in the table of contents in AP 2.4.0
Hi @Hangman and @MikeTO, strangely, I retried on the same document where I saw the problem and I could not reproduce it either.

LEB got a reaction from Rudolphus in Feature request: tag for pages in Affinity Publisher
It would be interesting to be able to add (colored) tags to the pages in the Pages panel, in order, for example, to point to pages that still need a lot of work.

@Hangman, thanks for having checked!

LEB reacted to Hangman in Incorrect decrementing of font size in Publisher
Hi @LEB,
Exactly...
When I change the language to French and the decimal character to a comma I see the same incorrect behaviour, i.e, pressing the down arrow changes 12,5 pt to 11 pt but switching the language back to English and the decimal character to a full stop (as used in English), the behaviour is then correct, i.e., pressing the down arrow changes 12.5 pt to 12 pt so there is clearly a bug when using the comma as the decimal character...

LEB got a reaction from Alfred in Strange error with the spellchecker in Affinity Publisher 2.4.0
I just clicked on the text and saw that the language was changed in the "Characters" settings.

LEB reacted to MikeTO in Strange error with the spellchecker in Affinity Publisher 2.4.0
I duplicated the problem with LEB's steps. The Style Picker tool reformats the text but doesn't trigger spell checking if the language changed. It's definitely a bug and it's new to me, I don't think it's been previously reported.

In the FR version of the app, both have exactly the same name (Calques).

LEB reacted to MikeTO in Setting the spelling language to None in a style is not retained in Affinity Publisher 2.4.0
Also, the same bug occurs in the Hyphenation Language list. Setting to None will display the line when editing the style.
Fortunately, this is just cosmetic - it does actually save as None.

LEB reacted to Old Bruce in Setting the spelling language to None in a style is not retained in Affinity Publisher 2.4.0
When I edit one of my posts I will include a note explaining what and why I edited it. Or I will do as you have kind of done and make a new post explaining that my original post was wrong and give the correct information done.

LEB reacted to walt.farrell in Setting the spelling language to None in a style is not retained in Affinity Publisher 2.4.0
I see that, too, on macOS; not on Windows.
I do not see that. For me, even though the Spelling Language is displayed incorrectly in the Text Style on macOS, if I have that style assigned to some text, spell checking is not performed.
Are you sure you actually had that text style assigned to your text?

LEB reacted to garrettm30 in Bug affecting superscript styles in Affinity Publisher 2.3.0
And many thanks to you as well as @MikeTO for bringing this bug forward. This is one of the bugs I have encountered from time to time but didn’t have a chance to report because I just had to get my work done.
