We are pleased to announce an update for the Windows release of Affinity Publisher, version 1.10.0
The detailed changes in Affinity Publisher for Windows 1.10.0 over the release build Affinity Publisher for Windows 1.9.2 are as follows:
Improved performance with: Heavily layered documents (faster rendering during panning and text reflow) Editing speed with long stories Placed images Embedded documents Low-memory conditions Placed PDFs set to Passthrough Documents containing placed documents (Resource Manager) Smaller PDF export file sizes when multiple copies of the same passthrough PDFs are present. Better output of placed PDFs set to Passthrough exported as PDF formats that do not support Passthrough. Added support for most emoji  Improved IME text editing for Japanese and Simplified Chinese languages. Added ‘Limit Initial Zoom to 100%’ preferences option (Windows) Implemented OpenType character variant samples and parameter names. Fixed issues with documents that have large numbers of embedded documents failing to load
(The maximum number of allowed open file handles was being exceeded leading to erroneous 'Future Version Error') Import keyboard shortcuts from IDML files. Resource Manager: New Relink option for missing resources. New File Type column. EPS files can be linked. Various stability improvements and assorted other fixes. Help and localisation improvement.
UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers)
The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Publisher).
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Publisher for Windows) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Windows Store purchases and needs a product key).
If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store— Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.

Paolo Del Signore reacted to Dan C in Affinity Photo Texture line
I have translated my above post into English and I will copy this below, as this explains why this option doesn't appear to work in Affinity Photo -
Unfortunately, none of the pixel brushes in Affinity Photo or the pixel brushes in Pixel Persona by Affinity Designer can be applied to a vector curve. For this functionality the 'vector brushes' contained in the designer persona of Affinity Designer must be used.
These 'vector brushes' are created to follow vector curves, e.g. B. the ones you draw with your pen. These brushes follow the nodes you created. Typically a pixel texture is applied over the vector curve and the 'Structured Line Style' is applied in the Strokes panel.
Since Affinity Photo does not support these 'vector brushes', you can see that the stroke does not change when you select Textured Line Style in the Stroke panel. You have to use Affinity Designer if you want to apply this visual look to your vector curves.
The reason for this option in Affinity Photo is that you can edit any curves that may have been edited / imported from Affinity Designer. For example, suppose you are creating a document in Affinity Designer and applying a structured line style to your vector curve. Then transfer this document to Affinity Photo. Unfortunately, you can't change the textured line style brush used here. However, this option has been left in the Stoke control panel so that you can further edit this stroke in Affinity Photo.
To put it simply, Affinity Photo's Strokes panel provides this option for compatibility reasons only and does not support the functionality required to natively apply a brush to your vector curve.
As mentioned earlier, in my opinion, the best option is to send the document from Photo to Designer, where you can then apply this look to your curves.
I hope that clears things up!

If Serif wanted Publisher to happen it would have been released years ago.
    Oh, wait...

You are talking about a relatively small company with a small development team whose products are used by many people who are constantly requesting all kinds of features and there simply isn't time to do all of them at once, so they need to prioritize.  Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it never will.  Your priorities are just that - yours - they may not match those of other users, or of the developers.

A polygon tool was added to CorelDRAW after it had been around for over 6 years.
Adobe Illustrator was around for 6 years before it supported layers.  About 2.5 years later they started supporting gradients, then after another four years they added support for transparency (more than 12 years after the product was first released in order to get transparency support!).
It took Adobe over 7 years to support table styles in InDesign after it was first released (Affinity Publisher had these basically from day one).
QuarkXPress was around for 9+ years before they started supporting bézier curves.

Compared to what the now "major players" offered when they first came out, the Affinity apps are off to a running start.

Saving often and saving several files through the process MyDesignName-Stage001, MyDesignName-Stage002, MyDesignName-Stage003 and so on is a lesson everyone has to learn the hard way*. And keep backups elsewhere too.
2 is 1 and 1 is none. So have at least 3. 1 on your machine, 1 on removable storage and 1 somewhere else (secure cloud/company server/whatever). And there are higher levels of paranoid archival if you want to go down that route.
*Graphite Addict learned this lesson, thankfully second hand, 3 decades ago when a copywriter lost a weeks' work 😑
