Another question: Imagine now I want to copy that folder locally - any way to set the path to relative or do I need to Relink? Best solutions obviously would just be standard relative path definition as available on OS level…

Hi, The situation is that I am using an iCloud folder with my afpub and some subfolders with images. This is all in the newest v2. I switch between iPad and macOS. Can someone clarify these two for me? Specifically: 1) Some images show as "Linked (Remote)" and some as linked. Whats the difference? I placed them all by the same way... 2) How can I specify relative locations? Since absolute path differ on iPadOS and macOS for the image location (the root of iCloud drive is just different...) im loosing my links. Best

Hi, I have the issue that when using the export menu, the predicted size (for jpeg, png) wont change when adding the bleed to the export. In my understanding, an export with bleed should be larger in terms of pixel size. The actual file is allright, just the stated size in the export dialog does not seem to update. Best

Well thats where I said this might be not a good idea for a TOC, so I will probably have to rethink the whole idea. Im gravitating towards the TOC containing the section, even though I will need to fix this in manually then.

Hi Mike, my defining headers (paragraph styles) have no numbering in them, since they really just the recipe names. Then, there are sections, again with no numberings, eg. "meat", "veggies". At each recipe (always a single page) I have a footer with section name and number, which starts again each section, eg. "veggies #3" or "meat #2". I need my TOC to point at the absolute page number, eg. when having 5 meat dishes and 4 veggies it should count up to 9. More clear now? But maybe thats just an odd thought and not really working... I have to try the index feature, thanks for the hint!

Hi, I'm trying to get a TOC right for a cookbook. I do get a basic version but have a few issues I could use some directions if possible and if yes, how. Currently, each page is a recipe with a heading, the recipe name, as a defined style. 1) I'm using sections where numbering starts at one again. If I insert my TOC based on the heading of each page, I get the page numbers as in the sections, e.g. restarting multiple times. I want the absolute document page number instead. Is this possible? 2) At the end, I would like an index, e.g. an alphabetically sorted TOC with the numbering above. Is this possible? Best!

Just checked on iPad. Same behavior for me. Am I doing something wrong here? Can someone reproduce? This is very annoying.

No, nothing on. Additionally, can't really select a brush with a context menu once refine selection is on.

Hello, Im getting strange issues with refine selection. To reproduce the below, I - Created a document and pulled in a stock image - Chose a selection tool and hit "refine" - Set all sliders to default values - Select Foreground, a large brush and just add a stroke. As you can see, there is a main stroke, a sort of soft feather outside and then this harsh border. Any ideas where this is from and how to prevent? This is reproducible with different images. Running 1.10.6 on macOS. Haven't used Photo for a while, don't recall this issue from like a few month ago.

Thanks for the quick replies. My bad, this is fixed in V2 but still present in the newest V1.10(.6?). Currently, some issues prevent me from upgrading to V2 so I have to work around that issue I guess.

Hi, as the title says - whats the best practice here to propagate guides to lower masters. Sample: - Create Master A, add a guide - Create Master B, inherit Master A. Guide is visible dashed (assume this means from Master) - Create Master C. Inherit Master B (which then, as confirmed in the layers panel, contains Master A). Guides are gone. Not even dashed. Is this by design? Is this a setting? I know I can apply multiple Masters so I could apply A and B to C but then, on C, there's A in the main level and A in the sub level, so applied twice.

Hi, compared to V1, the color update on global colors is not "live" anymore. This is highly annoying up to a "no upgrade" from my point of view. To reproduce: - Create document palette and a global color - Create shape and assign global color as fill - Edit global color (color wheel) in popup dialog by double clicking on it In V1, the change is visible directly, in V2 I have to close the wheel dialog to see the changed color.

Well I only got jpegs but the depth information is there to edit. Any way to get them to heif or to get AP to load from jpeg? can you elaborate on the resolution of the depth map? If I pull it from the jpeg using exiftool its fairly low compared to the image. Is this the same for the heif or do you have full res depth maps?

Hi, I have some images shot with portrait mode on iPhone and wat to use the masks and depth maps included in the files. I can extract them using exiftool on desktop so I know they are there. Is there a way to do that on iPad? I found an older post saying import from Photos app will create a layer with the information but I cant seem to get this to work...if I import I will only get the (non-blurred) image. Best!

Hi, well, trying to do the above. I have a document with some pages only in some of the exports - so I want to disable certain pages before export. I know I can specify pages to export but that brakes down quickly the moment there are page numbers which then won't match. Any ideas? Best

Any way to do this on iPad like on desktop? I can only create new global colors and then edit and eyedrop. Cant find a way to do it like select an object an then go global color from fill …. Best!

Actually, no. Draw a path with four nodes. ctrl-click the segment between Node2 and Node3 and you get two separate curves Node1 to Node2 and Node3 to Node4

Since 1.9, there are two new modifier for the node tool (at least on Desktop). See the changelog. You can easily delete a segment (between two nodes) and straighten a segment - this is quicker than breaking the curve at the two nodes and deleting the new solo segment.

Quick designer question: are the new node tool modifiers (delete and clean segment) available on iPad?

Hi, i have a n unexpected behavior with stroke (and font) sizes when they do not match the document setup in dimensions. Example below: Having a Setup using px but the stroke set to pt (via preferences) the entered value seems to be converted which is hard to understand. Changing the stroke dimension to px works expected, changing the doc to pt afterwards (the inverse setup as in the video) it fails again. anyone else seeing this issue? done in designer 186 on iPad FullSizeRender.mov

Hi, I know Shapebuilder is not here, but is there a way to intersect a shape with a group of shapes? See images below, I can intersect many if they do not intersect by themselves (image1, image2). However If the smaller shapes themselves intersect (image 3), it works on the intersection of all (image 4). However I need image 5 (this was produces by adding the two first, however this does not work if its more complex...). Application: Imaging a final design as a group and adding a flat style shadow on one half. In other softwares I usually do black rectangle larger than group, get intersection, reduce opacity. Whats the AD workaround here? Doing EVERY SINGLE CURVE (including needed duplication) is more than tedious....

Hi, im trying to create a fill shape inside many curves. Like a pixel fill respecting the boundaries. But then a vector shape as result. Ai can do this, even Inkscapes fill tool works in vector mode. Is this possible in ad?
