I'd just like to offer massive support for the idea of being able to merge into a single frame/textflow. Sure, it's great to be able to merge one record to one text frame BUT that's so limiting. A textflow can easily be split into multiple text frames, but it's a nightmare of copy/pasting to turn multiple text frames (and it can easily be hundreds) into a single textflow. I suspect I use the same QXP/ID extension as MikeW: it's amazingly fast and powerful (though it's script based, so not exactly intuitive) and I keep a 15 year old version of QXP just to use it. It instantly converts databases/spreadsheets into really typographically complex lists (think menus, wine lists, catalogues etc) and is very flexible. But the new Publisher 1.9 data merge feature is most of the way there: so close, it's really frustrating. It just needs to offer the choice of single/multiple text frames to offer most of the functionality. (It would be nice to be able to store the 'Fields' settings as a template, too, to save re-inputting them each time). Big vote for this, please! Like I say it's just a little change ... then I could finally let QXP7 and the ancient Mac mini/SnowLeopard setup go into dignified retirement.

OK, this is a book of poetry, and contains a load of words that aren't in any dictionary! Spell checker (run from the contentiously named Spelling Options) reports the first dodgy word as "Allo" (see screenshot). This word is as the author intends, but I can't move on from it, even though I know there are other misspelt words further on ("minexp" for example). I've included a ss of History. As you can see it shows the "'Ignore" command but the word it's ignoring is "". "Find next shows as "Set current text selection". Any thoughts? I could send the whole file, but I'm reluctant to do this if it can be avoided as the contents are not mine to share: client confidentiality and all that. Another thing that puzzles me: Affinity Help refers to Check Spelling In, but I can't see this anywhere. Thanks for your interest

Running Publisher 1.7.1 on MacOS 10.14.6 I have a document with various drafts. Spell checker used to work OK in earlier versions. In the current version of my document it has stopped working: In Spelling Options neither the "Find Next" nor "Ignore" buttons works, so, having reached a word that flags as incorrect, but which I want to retain without adding to the dictionary, I'm stuck! (I have check that all language options in preferences/text styles are set to UK English or No Change).
