    Hello Everyone,
I don't know if anyone already know this yet but I'll share it anyway. I'm using Affinity Designer 1.7
    1. Select everything you want to reverse the order
    2. Cut it (Ctrl + X)
    3. Enable "Insert behind the selection" or go to LAYER > INSERTION > BEHIND
    4. Paste it
You can see that the order of the objects are now reversed. :D

lalcimo got a reaction from Dmitriy Shmilo in Affinity Designer, Export Persona, "Create slice" from layer is 1px bigger than expected.
Affinity is quite finicky when it comes to creating slices. Every value of your object's transform (X, Y, W, H) should be whole number.
If there's a decimal number, Affinity will round it up and add an extra pixel.
    Ex. You have a square with these transform values. (X = 0, Y = 10.6, W = 50, H = 50). If you generated a slice from this object, there's a high chance that the slice generated would have these values (X = 0, Y = 11, W = 50, H = 51).
Aside from objects, your artboards aren't exception from this behavior.
Check the transform values of your artboards. If you're working on an artboard with decimal in its transform values, all the objects inside will generate slices with rounded up values. Regardless if the object doesn't have decimal transform values in itself.

    Hi Lalcimo,
I have logged this with our developers to be investigated further.

lalcimo got a reaction from lepr in SELECT > SELECT OBJECT (not working on masked/nested objects)
    Hello!
The problem I'm encountering is that Affinity Designer V2's select object feature doesn't work like V1.
For example, I want to select all the SHAPES in my document, I use the SELECT > SELECT OBJECT > SHAPES command and it only selects the shapes in the highest hierarchy.
All the shapes that are masked inside or children of another shapes would not be selected.
IMG 1: I created a dummy file consisted of multiple rectangles and curves

IMG 2: SELECT > SELECT OBJECT > SHAPES

IMG 3: All shapes (except the ones nested / children of the parent shapes) are selected.

    MY SYSTEM:
    - Macbook Pro M1
    - MacOS Ventura 13.4.1 (c)
    - Affinity Designer V2.1.1

    WHY FIX THIS:
    - The feature ain't working the expected way. V1 doesn't behave this way.
    - I use this feature because I work on complex vector art which require me to do multiple masking. If I need to make sure that all shapes with rounded corners are baked, selecting shapes this way would save a lot of time.
    - This behavior ain't isolated in SHAPES. Other categories are affected as well as long as they're nested.

I hope this issue gets fixed ASAP.
    MORE POWER SERIF TEAM!

Yup. They take so little room that I can barely tell which icon is which.
    In other words:
+1 to @Zero1's proposal to optionally add the text description back.

Hi guys. I've been trying to export an icon file into several .PNG slices, and the Export Slices dialog consistently makes AD2 irrecoverably hang.
This is an old bug that also affected, IIRC, AD1, but it seems to have gotten worse; before it was intermittent, but now it seems to have borked this functionality altogether (I can try with other similar files, however). If you want, I can also send you the file for you to test on.
I've also recorded a small video of it in action; you can't see the beachball cursor, because of some weird limitation in QuickTime, but believe me, it's there and it appears just a few seconds after the dialog opens (also, even if I quickly try to change to a different destination folder, those clicks aren't ever registered).

lalcimo got a reaction from LukasMizera in How To Reset The Bounding Box In Designer...
I found a "workaround" on resetting the bounding box for the following objects:

GROUPS: Ungroup then regroup. Skew, rotation, and bounding box will be reset.

SHAPES: It's impossible in itself but you can place it in a group to have the bounding box reset.
CURVES: Use an operation on your OBJECT. For me, I create a small rectangle and place it on a curve that I want to reset. I use ADD operation on them. Do take note that if you have round corners, they would be baked. I suggest that remove them first, and then reapply after resetting the bounding box. Also, the NEW OBJECT would have the fill and stroke of the OBJECT UNDERNEATH. In my example, it used the green fill instead of the red.

I do hope that Affinity would have a simpler way to reset the bounding box permanently, but for now, these workarounds would do.

anyway, I want to BUMP THIS TOPIC!
This feature would make so much sense, together with setting where I want the CTRL+J duplicate to appear (above or below selected layer)
    Thanks!

Note: You don’t need to add the new layer before doing the Geometry operation, you can just select the layer and use Geometry Add. (This works with Curve, Curves and Shape layers – amongst others – but it will, as you say, bake shapes into curves.)

For anyone still having problems with this, my co-worker discovered a workaround for this.

You can just select all kinds of objects then apply Scale with Object.

    Go to:
Select > Select Object > Pick a category here > Then tick Scale with Object

While they're are selected, you could also Scale with object the FX as well.

lalcimo reacted to thedivclass in multi-coloured node/curves when selecting multiple curves/paths
to help differentiate between overlapping curves and nodes when multiple are selected, it would be useful if paths and their nodes could be (optionally) coloured differently for each layer/path selected. e.g. select 2 paths, one is blue with blue nodes (default) and the other is orange with orange nodes. When nodes overlap, it would then be easy to know which is on top without having to move anything first.

it would also be nice if you could change the default colour from blue (or set a "default layer colour").

    thanks
