  1. Hi, I just copied the y-value of an object in panel "transform" into the y-value of another object. It went wrong, because the comma (German value) was changed into a point like this: 5,46 > 5.46 In German Apps this does not work. Designer version 1.9.3, Mac Big Sur, Macbook Best regards Rainer
  3. ok, thanks. that is a possibility. But I first have to find or create such an object to use this option. I know the version, i spoke about in Illustrator.
  4. In Illustrator, there are 2 possibilities to solve the problem. – Formerstellungswerkzeug (maybe called "form tool" in english) – Darunter liegende Objekte aufteilen (translated: Dissecting objects below) to find in main menu Objekt (object) > Pfad (maybe path in english)
  5. Hi, sometimes for me it is necessary to scale the mask of a masked object created with: (German) "Ebene > Anordnen > Hinein verschieben" without the content. By using move tool (black arrow) I only can resize the mask itself plus the masked content. I know that it is possible to convert the mask into curves to modify its shape, but scaling does not work easily. I have to move every anchor point separately. I am confronted with the same problem by using layer masks, or is there a solution I don´t know. Best regards Rainer
  6. Hi, It would be more convenient, if the option "Aufteilen" (German) in pathfinder would also work with open pathes. They could be used to dissect closed objects more easily Please look at the example above. At the moment I have to use closed objects instead. Please look at the example below. Best regards Rainer
  7. Hi, sometimes forgotten empty objects, lines and text pathes disturb fluent workflow, because the are invisible in normal display modes. For example if one have to design a map with a lot of cities, rivers and so on, one can´t identify those objects in mode "Drahtgitter (German)", because there are tons of other objects around. Maybe it would be usefull to add the features – "object without fill and stroke" – "empty text path" – "path without stroke" to the section "select object (German: Objekt auswählen"). Maybe as submenu, to get the possibility to select all the features at once. It would be an easy way to select and erase those objects. Best regards Rainer
  8. Hi, I already wrote about this theme, but I found some other suggestions about it. I know I can import grayscale information into masks by using cmd + option + click to create a selection and layer mask after. At the moment I sometimes I duplicate an image layer, convert it into greyscale, manipulate it by gradation and other tools and finally convert it into selection and after that into a layer mask. But all these actions – Coping layer – Converting to grayscale – Creating luminance selection – Creating mask layer maybe if possible could be replaced by directly placed image layer content into layer mask with one button click or menu option and following manipulation possibilities like gradation and other tools, not only by brushes, directly into mask. Maybe as "Live-Anpassungs-Ebenen (German)" (Live layers ???) Advantage: non-destructive and instantly visible result. Rainer Riedl
  9. Thank you, I did´nt realise this option. I just searched in the layer panel by using the right mouse button. However it would be more constistent if one could find this option into the layer panel, particular for beginners, who also don´t know the shortcut.
  10. Hi, the possibility to merge selected layers into one layer would be more comfortable. At the moment I must group layers first, after that, I can merge them by rasterizing. I also don´t want to make all the other existing layers invisible before using the option "merge visible" (in german "Sichtbare zusammenlegen")
  11. Hi, copying greyscale images directly into isolated mask layer would be more comfortable.
  12. Hello Sir, Every time I want to export LUT, APhoto 1.9 chrashes on both of my computers with different MacOS. MacOS 10.9.5 and 11.2. I also used different images with different "Anpassungen" (German) to test the problem.
  13. Hi, why one can find the function "Ressourcen verwalten" on different places? On Publisher it is menu "Dokument", otherwise menu "Ansicht". It would be easier to work with your Apps, if one can find the same function at the same place. Best Regards Rainer
  14. Hello, after using the align tool the still selected objects change position again if I click on one of them (still selected). Description of my workflow 1) I select the objects, which positions should be aligned. 2) I open the align tool by click on the relevant icon. 3) The align tool window appears and I set the values I need. In this case for example I want 1 cm horizontal space between the selected objects. I also use the option "last selected". 4) After clicking "Fertig" (German version) (maybe "ok" in the English version), everything seems ok. The objects get the right position. But if I now click on one of the still selected objects sometimes (not always) the objects change position again. The result shows now no horizontal space between the objects. If I deselect the objects after using the align tool instead of clicking one of the still selected, everything ist alright. The objects does not change position. As I mentioned before it not always happens, but at approximately at 50%. Yours sincerely Rainer
  15. Hi Walt, thank you for your response. I ment especially the character space. Meanwhile I did a test by placing a rectangle, width 10 pt, on top of a text line with 10 pt character height. Aligned to the right boarder of a character. After that I first decreased the character space between this character and the following until the characters get touched. Result: value -150 %. Then increased the character space again until the left boarder of the displaced character reached the right boarder of the rectangle. Result: 850 %. Both added = 1000 %. So, like in Indesign, the base value (height of the character) is presumably defined with 1000%. For me this knowledge is important. As a graphic designer and typographer I have to work with proper values. Thanks again for your answer. Rainer
