Each separate/distinct request should be in its own thread, as per the forum guidelines.
Please don’t add new, different, requests to this thread.
Creating new threads for new requests makes it much easier for everyone to know what is going on as the discussions about the different subjects don’t get mixed in with each other.
Note: Search first before creating new requests as you will often not be the first to want it. If a thread already exists you can ‘add your voice’ to that thread rather than creating a new one. This keeps discussions about the same thing in the same thread which makes it easier for other people to find information.

Everyone has different work habits and procedures, and thus different requirements for keyboard shortcuts and context menu items. Therefore, it is good that the keyboard shortcuts can be modified according to the needs and habits of the user, and it would also be good to enable the setting of context menu items. Otherwise, someone will always be satisfied, and someone else will not.

Affinity Designer: For Pen tools stroke convert to curve.
I recommend The function "Expand Stroke" menu move or plus to context menu of pen tools.
First, I can find stroke convert to outline function on Context menu.
So I confused Designer doesn't able to convert from pen tools vector to curve. And after, I found my answer in this forum.
But I think possibly, usually this convert function use to in work many many times.
*Plus, my recognize not Expand stroke. convert to shape or curve. Sorry about these knowledge gap or culture gap.

    Not a bad recommendation.

It is also possible to set Expand Stroke to a keyboard shortcut. In the event you are using it that much.

I think the guides and grids are handled in a little bit of a ‘clunky’ way at the moment. They feel like a bolt-on compared to the rest of the software. Guides and grids are the foundation of a lot of document layouts and illustrations so I think it would be good if the functionality relating to them was handled a bit more ‘smoothly’.
Another example that popped into my head was: If the grid could be manipulated by dragging vertices, a designer could draw an object and then drag the grid to suit that object instead of messing around with a dialog (see my very crude example GIF - I’m sure it can be done much better, I’m just manipulating a bitmap fill to try and put the point across).

    Hello all
let me just start with stating I am not a pro, but a 20 year long user of photoshop. Now using aff photo on my new iPad Pro, I LOVE IT !!!!
sure it is not as powerful and maybe complete as ps on the Mac, and yes I find the menu structure “different” 😄 but I love it big time
had no problems getting the hang of the program at all !, keep up the good work
I do have a few request
1 could the copy / paste and duplicate layer menu be moved to the menu bar on the right side, that is the place where you do all your layer stuff like adding etc. Feel more intuitive there than on the left
2 could “snapping” get an quick off/ on switch On screen (or the possibility to place one if you so want to) in stead of this constant (for me I switch off and on a lot) going in to the settings menu that Is provided and back
3 I would love if the symmetry tool could get more axis like up to to 24 or 36. And while we are on the subject of the symmetry tool : the way you all implemented this ,,,,,,,, just brilliant !!!!!!!!!!  Eat your heart out adobe
again keep up the good work
    cheers

You could place a vector shape on top and change the Layer Blend Mode to ‘Erase’. That will make a hole where the shape was.
It will erase everything below it, so you might want to nest it in the layer you make a ‘hole’ in.
  10. Thanks

    Hi Affinity Team
I watched Youtube video "Editing Metadata". And I tried this work, however, in Detail Window, white color fill to background.
Another metadata pull-down menus are nothing happened same issue.
    My gears: Affinity Photo 1.8.1 / macOS High-Sierra / MacPro 2010
Thanks for your power and development!! 💪
