All is working now. I am not sure how I got it to work, tbh. I don't see Edit Document in the Context toolbar. Screenshot attached. Thank you. Still find it weird that the computer has slowed. Is there something I can do, like delete cache/prefs (on a Mac). Never experienced sluggishness with Affinity before. Not sure what is causing it. THANK YOU!

Hi Nathan, This is exactly what I wanted to do. I am using Affinity Publisher to create a brochure with this table. I have tried clicking, selecting with the move, going to Table options and nothing has worked. Must be a bug in my software installation or something. Another thing that's been happening is a constant beachball delay now. Not sure what's going on using an M1 MacBook Air with 8G RAM. Something's obviously not right. Thanks again, Chris

Hello, I created a table in Designer. I cannot figure out how to target the to left corner cell (above Density Options). I want to delete this cell. Failing that, I would like to make it transparent with no upper or left border. Failing that, I would like to know how to change the color of this cell. It's been hours of clicking, researching, etc., and I cannot seem to find any information. Clicking in the cell only allows me to type in it. Can someone please help me to understand how to do this? Thank you so much! Chris table.pdf

Thank you so much. And for drawing the glass as a vector. So much to learn. I admire you all that just seem to know how to do these things. I think what I'm trying to do is make the hand appear on the other side of the glass. It appears to me this is the right arm, therefore, the body of the glass should be obscured by the hand. As it appears to me now, the beer glass seems to be floating on the back of his right hand. I realize since this is a line drawing with no fill this may be difficult to convey. I will try your original fill technique and see if it works here. Thank you, Chris

Thank you so much, Anto! This is fantastic, and such a great method. Can you please explain to me how I can change the lines of the body to white, so that it is a white line drawing with no fill, and only the beer is in color? I was able to make the lines white by using FX>Color Overlay, but can't figure out how to keep the beer the original color, rather than it turning white, too. (attached) Thanks again, Chris bbb-eps.eps

May client (friend) got back to me with some details: ...was thinking about mimicking the Alfred Hitchcock logo. I drew up a sketch and was just thinking of keeping it in dark grey and white and adding the holding a glass of beer like it was being judged; kinda imagine just holding a glass with just your finger tips. Then, maybe the beer could be yellow/gold as the only pop of color? So I really am not sure how to take the Hitchcock silhouette and turn it into a vector and change it, as I'm not versed at Designer. Thanks so much.

Hi thomaso, Thank you for your helpful post. Yes, the client scanned a sketch he did and emailed me. There'd be an copyright infringement if I used the original Alfred Hitchcock image, so I bought some vector files that I thought gave a similar profile that maybe I could adjust using Designer. But I'm not well-versed in Designer, so am sort of trying to experiment a bit and make a vector work. Perhaps I can do that with the Hitch logo, if I can learn to draw something similar. Thank you, Chris

Hey firstdefence! This is just wonderful! I have been trying for a few hours to figure out some ways to make the text look better. This is super good. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! Even your shade of orange is superb. My only thought is that the client is probably going to want the heavier set figure, he's I think making a bit of fun at the idea of getting a beer belly from drinking many beers. My ideas are attached, but I dunno if they are any good...I was stuck for more, and now this! Thank you for sharing your skills. What a great forum. Always fun and I feel like I learn so much every time. Chris
