Spiro got a reaction from .: NICKY G. :. in French Curve
Please consider to add a new tool "French Curve" for use with pen tool, and vector brush. Something similar to the french curve on Autodesk sketchbook. It's super useful for sketching with a graphic tablet.

That's great, many thanks. I think in a future release it would make more sense to put a rounded corner option inside the Text Frame panel, but this workaround is also great. Thank you!

After it's been converted to a Text Frame the basic corner shape is still editable by selecting the frame and using the Node Tool. Or, for more editing capabilities, use the Rounded Rectangle Tool's context toolbar instead of the Node Tool.
  4. Thanks

    Hi ConnectCreative,
Welcome to Affinity Forums Another way is to create a rounded rectangle shape then go to menu Layer ▸ Convert to Text Frame (the corners will not be editable after the conversion).

It would be very nice if you could collapse all layers at once in the layers panel. Layers become very difficult to work with when you have many of them since selecting objects expands the parent layer, so you have to scroll back up and manually collapse them yourself.
Perhaps you could have it so that layers are only expanded for as long as the item within it is selected? That way, after deselecting an object, the layer expansion goes back to its previous state, which is ether expanded or collapsed. Am I making any sense?

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers)
The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Photo).
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Photo for Windows) can be downloaded from this link. (that installer is NOT for Windows Store purchases and needs a product key).
If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store— Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.

maybe I'm missing it, but is there an option to open a JPEG, or bitmap image
and trace,or convert it to a vector file for further editing? If not there should be one, it would be a great option. even if it had only a few modes like black and white, and 5 color
it would make me convince me to convert from adobe illustrator

Not exactly sure how to call this "feature" but I think in Illustrator it was called "Isolation Mode".

What I want to be able to do is, for example, enter a group and drag a selection over a few elements without interfering with background elements. Without, obviously, having to lock them previously.

Is there something to accomplish this? It seems like a really basic feature and it's essential to my workflow. How do you guys deal with this type of situations?
