LastGrasp got a reaction from dannyg9 in Death At Ya Doorstep
This is the concept a friend of mine wanted for an album cover. Originally I was supposed to draw it by hand but I wanted to try to pull it off with AP. This is the result:

It has a built in help file and if you scroll back 5 or 6 pages on Resources thread I have posted a PDF version (searchable), that you can read and browse at your leisure.

I never use the pencil too, just the pen. That doesn't mean you can't though. You don't seem to have set a fill colour only the stroke. Set the fill colour too and it might be fine but not sure if that's one object of two. If it's one and messes up make the main shape with the path closed and then add the one going down the middle separately. If that is a single open path then closing it via the toolbar will make a mess of it as it will join the start and end nodes, not what you want here.
Anther way is to outline and then draw the fills putting them behind the outlines. Then it doesn't matter if lines are closed or not as each thing is a separate object. Not something I do very often but I have seen others doing it that way.

The shape doesn’t need to be closed, the stroke just needs to completely surround the area that you want to fill. Set the fill mode to ‘winding’ (via ‘Edit > Fill Mode > Winding’) instead of ‘alternate’ so that you don’t have an unfilled area next to the curved line down the middle.

LastGrasp got a reaction from Patrick Connor in Crass Aesthetics
These are designs I created in Affinity Designer and Photo. Inspired by 70's Anarcho punk band Crass from the UK. I am using these for my attempt project called PIPE BOMB MEDIA. I'm the guy sitting in the "I'm Already Dead" image, I am also using the pseudonym "Manifest Destiny" for this project. I am a really big fan of this style and minimalism in general.

LastGrasp got a reaction from CHECHENO in I hope...
I hope Affinity by Serif is able to provide all the features that Adobe does in order to completely remove them from the market. They've had their time and their subscription based licensing is an antithesis to the creative process. That's like renting a pencil or pen or brush to an artist instead of letting them purchase the tool so they can use it as they please... sorry, just wanted to get that off my chest. This can be considered a form of feedback I suppose from a consumers perspective.

This is where I'm at now....except with a few technical issues because I don't want to have to redo this whole thing again. I like where it's at now, looks way better than the terrible sketches I made (and have no excuse for).

Just organizing the layers (because it was a mess) took me a whole day...
Now I want to vector all my hand drawn stuff for practice until I can do this with my eyes closed...

Very Mega Man X-ish, nostalgic. Nice work.

This is the mascot for my bicycle club Street Punx NYC. The mascot is based basically an old cartoon character I used to draw called The Brown Recluse, I retired him about 8 years ago and he reared his ugly head to volunteer his services for this club. I was inking a rough sketch (I'm rusty as hell, honestly) while sitting in a Starbucks (like a dirty hipster) when my brush pen dropped and splattered ink on the drawing. I was about to scrap it but decided to take a pic of it and give AD a shot. It started of looking like trash, and as I was playing around with the tools and options I was able to tweak the design more and more...this began last Friday.... I've been glued to this iPad since, making crazy adjustment and fine tuning and trying to figure out how to use this app to rebuild my protfolio.
This is still a work in progress... because I'm still figuring out how to operate this software...
This is the initial photo I took to show the club members how I screwed up the drawing...they suggested white out, but I'd rather drink it than shame my family by using it on my work (kidding, obviously). Super rough sketches.
