verysame's answer is great, but I find the set up of channel mixers can be simplified as:
    - If you want just the Red channel, simply change all the rest channel's contribution to zero.
For instance, after you duplicating the original image 3 times, and rename them properly as "Original_Red", "Original_Green", "Original_Blue"; Add 3 channel mixers to each later.
Now inside the Channel Mixer for Original_Red, select green output and change its green contribution to 0, select blue output and change its blue contribution to 0.
Similarly, inside the Channel Mixer for Original_Green, select red output and change its red contribution to 0, select blue output and change its blue contribution to 0.
Finally, inside the Channel Mixer for Original_Blue, select red output and change its red contribution to 0, select green output and change its green contribution to 0.

I was looking for a changelog for the recent 1.8.3 release and a search brought up this unresolved forum thread as one of the first entries. Has this been addressed during the past 2 years?

Implementing the changelog on the site where you download the new version would be really nice.
With full shown changelog for the current version and for the older ones something like a drop-down field to safe space. You guys and girls should really think about this, it makes everything a lot easier and everyone sees it.

Does anybody know where the changelog for each release can be found? If there isn't one, could maybe the Affinity team start publishing changelogs?
I'm asking, because today the updater said a new version is available for download (v1.6.4.104), but I can't seem to find the list of changes/fixes (assuming it's following semver).
    Thanks.

You can use the Channel Mixer.
    Here are the steps:

Duplicate your base layer three times Add a Channel Mixer adjustment to each layer and nest the adjustments respectively Now you need to split the channels so in order to extract the red channel you pick the Green from the Output Channel in the Channel Mixer and move the red to -200 and the blue to -200, same goes for the Blue Channel, you move the red to -200 and the blue to -200. At the end of the operation, you're left with the red channel only Repeat the process above for the remaining two channels: so, for the green just use the Red and Blue channels and move to -200 respectively the red and blue Once you've done, change the blend mode of the two top layers to ADD and now you get the default beauty pass with no chromatic aberration yet Start shifting the two top layers in the direction that pleases the look you are looking for, you'll see the Chromatic Aberration showing up as you move the layers. Here's an example:

    Regular beauty pass

    With Chromatic Aberration

You could even add some lens distortion, either to the individual layers or to the top of the stack, it's up to you.

    This is the layer setup:

Seriously someone got to take care of this (for me especially in Affinity Photo). For library with lots of brushes it's almost not usable.
Also here is what will be great: Make there a popup and we can just type in (partial) name of the brush and filter brushes automatically. This is something Photoshop doesn't have and everyone would love to have and that would make Affinity Photo several million times even better.
    Happy new year!

That's true.  Brush tracking is difficult I suppose for raster based programs.  Corel Painter tracks and shows the last handful of brushes used so that's helpful, but there's no reason why a vector based program can't do it.  Serif's discontinued DrawPlus certainly did it and did it very, very well.  If you clicked on a brush stroke in DrawPlus, not only did it select that brush in the panel, but it also would go on to paint/draw with all the characteristics of the strok you clicked on.  Additionally, it had an option in the brush panel to show only the brushes used in the document.  That stuff was brilliant.  On the surface, the brush tools in DrawPlus and AD look almost identical, but there is a lot of differences in how they work.  DrawPlus was a lot better in this dept.

Yes please, fix this, Affinity! I’m just getting acquainted with the Pixel Persona in AD, as I am mostly a vector guy, and this is a real productivity killer here, too. Even the smallest change to some of the tool’s parameters (as basic as width) causes the highlight in the brushes panel to vanish. I did a project a while ago that relied pretty much on brushes (both Designer and Pixel personas) and the only reasonable way to manage brushes was to create an individual collection so I could remember which one is for what, but that is not the way to do it!
However, with vector brushes you can always paste properties to a different object like @Jonopen had mentioned – which is a nasty workaround but does the job. Not possible for pixels, obviously.
    cheers,
    Matt

+1. The brushes panel is the weakest panel in the suite right now. It needs an overhaul badly. I can never remember what brush I've used on something, even when I'm still in the middle of using it. I try to get around that by naming each layer after the brush I use in it but that is highly cumbersome and annoying.
And I know I sound like a broken record but I'd also love to be able to see the brush names without hovering the cursor over it.

    Hi,
I just wanted to ask this question about the name of the brushes, and I saw that it is still not solved.
I've always worked on the ipad version, and the names are visible there, so I think it's a doable change.
While the question of highlighting on the panel, of the name of selected stroke, is absent on both.
    Save the forgetful artists, please!

Assuming you have View > View Mode > Clip to Canvas turned off, you could put a Text Frame or Artistic Text off the page, to the right or left, and make your comments there.

I don't know if i have the same problem or if i understood you right, but i want help on my issue too (and maybe we have the same problem, so i will post here).
Before starting, you use Affinity publisher (but with affinity Photo brush and mode), whereas i use Affinity Photo, so there is this difference.
i use a Wacom tablet too, to be more Specific:

    Wacom Intuos Pen Small Tablet.
I too don't have this problem with other softwares.

My problem seems to be some stamping feature of Affinity Photo (either bug or feature, not a feature if i don't have an option to deactivate it, more like a bug or bad design choice) when using the Paint Brush tool, this can be easily reproduced with with some large brush, if i tap twice with the pen (very lightly, but still detectable) the brush will stamp in large size on screen and when i move the brush (without removing it from the tablet after the second tap (i.e. holding it in place)) the brush will not paint anything (leaving only the stamped stuff onscreen). I really dislike it because it breaks my flux while drawing, i need to use ctrl+z a lot because of it and can't do fine details too, somebody help us to change this configuration or at least make it optional in the next update?
The brush should only stamp with the intensity used by the person and with one tap only, and continue into a stroke if we want too, without any button whatsoever, that way, if we try to draw/write something it doesn't stop us from doing it. This should be in an available configuration at least.

Please, free us from the Death embracing grip of Adobe!

Allan Windmill reacted to thomasbricker in How do I collect my linked images in Affinity Publisher?
A while back, while working on a document, AP asked me if I wanted to make all my images "linked" and collect them into one folder.
I said yes, and it did it automatically.

Now I am trying to find that function/command and Im not seeing it.
My document has new linked images from all over my hard drive and I want them to be all consolidated to one folder.
I have already checked out the Document Resources panel. Doesn't seem to offer that function.
I could swear the AP did this for me on its own. ( I have the folder to prove it.) But I can not seem to replicated this behavior.
Was I dreaming? Or does this function exist?

    Please advise.
    Thanks.

    @thomasbricker
Yes, you can make all embedded images to linked in a batch.
Just select multiple images in the resource manager, click "Make linked..." and select a folder.
It will mass export all resources into that.
I just tested it with an PDF export.
It obviously does only work if the image has no linked image reference.
You also did that with an PDF export. I can tell that from the naming of your resource files.
    Very nice function. Love it.

On a site note: I see that you have quite a lot linked images in your document. At the current state of the beta you should be careful with that and consider to rasterize the parts you're done with. I also had a lot of images linked in my document and got Publisher crashing all the time until I rasterized most of it to reduce memory usage. Just a hint if you notice problems.

I'm looking for shortcuts for jumping to pages:
Pos1 -> first page End -> last page Ctrl + J -> jump to page ... Do you have those?
Besides, Ctrl + Page Up/Down to navigate from spread to spread works well!

Noob, it would be a great feature, but currently isn't available.  You have to individually turn each effect off by unchecking it from the fx panel.  Then remember which fx(s) had been used on which layer, so they can be turned back on when done.
