  1. I managed to get the top and side tool bars back but the bottom one with the page toggle and other tools is absent. Cannot find where to reinstate the bottom row.
  2. I want to use numbers from inside front page of magazine to inside back page but do not want to use master pages. Is this possible because I cannot work this out from the tutorials with master pages and placeholders being used.
  3. I have produced a 40 Page A5 magazine and when I try to export for the professional printer to use it keeps coming up with an error message. I am not sure what setting I may have not checked or checked in error but I desperately need to get this off to print. I did not have a problem last issue when I exported so no idea what the difference is this time. Have included shots of error and my settings in case someone can spot the problem. I have watched the tutorial over and over and have not seen anything which may help.
  4. I have attached a screen shot of error message. After hunting in all the files I found it had achieved one saved pdf but the 36 pages had been saved separately so there are 36 separate pdf files. No use to me at all. There must be one small box I have checked wrongly or omitted as I have successfully been exporting pdf files from Affinity for several years.
  5. I am getting an error when trying to export a document as a pdf for commercial printing. I tried it when I had just one page and it was OK. Now I have 36 pages and it will not work. Comes up with a pathway error and I cannot find where to try and save it on my PC now. Have not had this happen before and I need a standard PDF to send to the editor tomorrow and then a PDF for pro print to send to printers on Monday. The error window gives not give any indication about how to remedy this. I would be really grateful for some assistance with this. I have had an extremely hard learning curve getting used to this after Page Plus 8 and am having to work at the same time as learning. VN Summer 2022 Print.afpub
  6. Sorry I must be a bit thick here. How do I show crop marks and bleed settings and why? I used to use Page Plus 8 and the Printer never complained. I just need to find the most effective PDF format from the Affinity Publisher program. It all looks good on my PC and prints out well but they have suddenly started to be picky and I do not know why. They are difficult to talk to as well as they just use terms which are over my head. After 11 years of doing this I am rather puzzled and do not know which way to turn. Thank You, Sue.
  7. The printer I use has has asked for me to send the file 'for use by a commercial printer'. Which PDF setting do I use Please.
  8. I have been a user of the Serif Page Plus programs for years and just design a simple A5 40 page booklet for our village each month. I am finding the importing of word documents into my Affinity file very difficult and miss the ability to let text run on to extra pages as and when needed. This really is making my like stressful as I cannot get this to work well in Affinity. Please advise.
  9. Thank you very much. Have had another session since your post and am getting the hang of things. Will keep plodding on. Many thanks.
  10. I have been using Serif products for over ten years and have used all the Page Plus versions. I am finding the difference between those and Affinity Publisher a step too far. I just produce a 40 page A5 village news booklet with articles, adverts, photos and clip art. I import files from Microsoft documents, picture and downloads. I do not need master pages or other features at the moment. I just want to import adverts run in last issue plus any new ones, some regularly used text which I can edit for each issue, new articles and PDF files, photos from my hard drive and various artwork from downloads. I just cannot see how I can do this and none of the tutorials seem to help. Sorry to be such a woos.
