Doren Sorell got a reaction from NathanC in Brush On Mask Very Laggy In Affinity Photo
@NathanC
Wow, that fixed it!! Thank you so much. I don't ever remember even changing that setting but, yes, it works now flawlessly. 😃

Doren Sorell got a reaction from Mrrrky in Select subject
This is also a feature suggestion area, correct?
If so, I would also like to suggest getting Select Subject; it comes in quite handy and helps to get a good starting selection. @MEB

Doren Sorell got a reaction from p_mac in Lots of Crashes on 1.9.2
Not sure how to notify Serif about this, other than right here, but I have been getting lots of crashes happen once I updated.
I've attached the last crash report if that helps.
Thanks.

Doren Sorell reacted to MEB in Random Slow/Freeze When Saving in Photo
Hi Doren Sorell,
Thank you for the additional information provided. Yes, Affinity should save all live filters/adjustments/whatever no matter how many do you have used. There's definitely some issues with how Affinity data is being saved on TIFFs (live filters) - I'm still waiting for devs reply on this issue. If you save the same exact file in our format you will see it saves almost immediately (as it should). This wasn't noticed sooner probably because most users aren't working with TIFF's as an interchange format - they simply use TIFFs as an end export format without including Affinity data i think.

Doren Sorell got a reaction from MEB in Random Slow/Freeze When Saving in Photo
First off, thank you for checking and then passing this onto the dev team for inspection. Much appreciated.
Yes, I do have a reason: roundtrip is important to me because I use Capture One as my DAM, and I can only view (and do more work on, if I choose) TIFF, JPEGS, and PSD files in Capture One. And I've been doing this workflow for years with Photoshop, and have been doing this exact workflow for months in Affinity -- until this hiccup that started happening just recently.

Doren Sorell reacted to MEB in Random Slow/Freeze When Saving in Photo
Hi Doren Sorell,
Are you saving the file to the internal/system hard rive or to an external disk/NAS or any cloud sync folder? Do you have any document where this happens consistently when you try to save that you can provide for us to check?

Doren Sorell reacted to m.vlad in Open Recent on the welcome screen?
I know, it's actually what I end up using right now (either close the welcome screen or disable it entirely and then going there). but it'd make for a nicer experience to add that in the welcome screen too (one click instead of three). As of now the welcome screen feels like it's only intended for first time users, not for something you'd like to see every time you open the app. I admit my perception of completeness I shared before is subjective, but having the welcome screen be an indicator of the app finishing loading up (yeah i know they're fast but still) is a very satisfying experience.

Several good ideas here...
Currently you can do this if you have one of the newer Wacom tablets that have the touch feature - you can use two fingers and "rotate" the canvas directly using the tablet.
You want to turn off "Lock Children" in the context toolbar.
