IMPORTANT UPDATE for anyone still using Affinity V1 -
Versions 1.10.6 of the Affinity suite have been released, which resolve these .NET Windows crashes.
Please see the below link for information on how to download and install these updates:
With the Affinity updates installed, you can now un-hide any previous Windows updates you have paused and install these without concern.

Would love to have a blend/morph tool for shapes. I miss having this from Illustrator for sure! The other being a trace of an object or image to create vectors. Still I love Affinity for what it offers. I hope they add this feature soon!

If the Affinity apps are crashing when typing into the Font selection box please uninstall the following updates dependant on your version of Windows:
    Windows 11: KB5017264, KB5017267, KB5017271, KB5017859, KB5018341, KB5018546, KB5018859, KB5020695, KB5020617
    Windows 10: KB5013887, KB5017262, KB5017266, KB5017858, KB5018329, KB5018543, KB5018544, KB5018545, KB5020613
Some users have also reported crashes/issues when placing images, updating resources, adding pages, amending table columns and converting colour profiles. If you're suddenly experiencing crashes when performing actions which worked previously it is also recommended that these updates be uninstalled.
If you're unsure on how to uninstall these updates, please follow the below:
Press the Windows Key + R and enter 'Control Panel' Go to 'Uninstall a program' Select 'View Installed updates' Find the associated KB number, right click and select 'Uninstall' Restart your PC On Windows 11 you may need to press the Windows Key and search for 'Uninstall Updates'. You will then be able to uninstall the relevant update.
This update can then be hidden to prevent it being installed with future updates by following the guide in the link below.

I can confirm i've been able to replicate this after installing the latest updates on W10 and 11. Please see the below FAQ thread on how to resolve this:

    +1 for the blend tool.
Having said that, Designer is an incredible value. It does much more than I expected of any Illustrator substitute. And I'm actually allowed to own it. And I'm not required to ignore the horde of subscription minions running the the background. I'm quite happy with Serif.
Still, that blend tool is something I have never done without.

    Good morning everybody,
I am finding another thing that seems to be missing from Designer which I use an awful lot in CorelDRAW and which is kind worrying to me unless maybe I'm missing something. In Corel I have a blend tool. I believe Illustrator has the same thing though I don't use Illustrator. It allows me to create two objects and blend them together. This is particularly useful for creating interesting drop shadows and so on. Is there really no way to do this in Designer? I'm attaching a screenshot to show you what I mean. Corel allows me to choose which aspects of each object interact with one another.
Hopefully there is some way of doing this or it will be added as it seems like a very important tool to me.
Thanks very much and let me know!
    Phil

Having same issue. Didn't do this before Publisher 1.9.0.932.
    I'm on Windows 10.
Here is an example of a before and after. The before does not have layers grouped. If I select them and then group them the text jumps to huge increased size.

If I group text frames that have been copy pasted from another document, it will increase the text font size by roughly 405%. 9pt text will increase to 37.5 for example. 48pt text goes up to 200pt.
The only work around is to create a new layer, group that layer with no content, then add all text frames to that group. Obvoiously not ideal when you need to group multiple text frames per page on a 300-400 page documen. As rather than select, then a single quick key, it becomes two quick keys, select, two more quick keys.
I have seen other posts on this problem, none of which seem to have a fix.

Is this a style or setting issue, or a bug?

I would be super great if there a way to change the space or distance between the spreads/pages/pasteboard?
Within InDesign preferences ( Preferences > Guides & Pasteboard > Pasteboard Options ) there is a way to set this. I can't seem to find this in Publisher. I always found this helpful because sometimes I don't want to see the other page and prefer to focus on the page I'm designing.
Keep up the great work Affinity!

Is there any way to name pages individually without using Sections?  I make customisable Inserts for Planners and its more useful to me to have them individually named like the artboards in Designer.

    Some possibilities, today:
You can do some edits directly in Publisher, today. In the Layers panel you can select a layer, and then click the Adjustments icon at the bottom of the panel. Or the fx icon. Changes that you make will be done only in your Publisher document.
If what you want to do can't be handled by that, then you can use File > Edit in Photo and the document will close in Publisher and reopen in Affinity Photo positioned to that page. You can do your edit, use File > Save to save the file, and then manually reopen it in Publisher. Again, these changes are just in your Publisher document.
If you have a Linked image file (JPG, TIFF, PNG) in your Publisher document, and you select it with the Move Tool, there is an Edit Image button on the Context Toolbar. Clicking that will open just that image in a new tab in Publisher, where you can edit it using the tools available in Publisher. These changes will update the original linked document when you Save them. In the future, as already mentioned, the Photo Persona will be available. Though we do not know for sure what it allows, I envision it as providing most of the functions of the Photo Persona in Affinity Photo.

I believe that the plan is you would switch to the Photo persona (one of the icons in the upper left corner of the UI) to open the tools to manipulate the image. For that to work, you need to have the 1.7 versions of Photo installed.  If you also have Designer, you can use the Designer persona to use its tools within Publisher.

    Yes please.
One of the features I'm most sorely missing having migrated from Photoshop is Pattern Fill / Pattern Layer Style / Pattern Brush.  There are workarounds (applying patterns to shapes, saving those as styles, etc.) but good pattern implementation would be very welcome.  Ideally Affinity Photo would be able to read PS's .pat files.

barrycosta reacted to Mark Oehlschlager in Pattern Tile Creation and Fill
I would like to request that Affinity Photo add the features of pattern tile creation and fill.
One should be able to define a rectilinear selection as a pattern tile, and be able to use that as a repeating fill. The pattern tile might be a repeating graphic motif, suitable for a wallpaper pattern, or it might be a material texture used to render surfaces.
In the case of creating seamless texture pattern tiles, it would also be useful to build an offset filter that would allow one to offset a tile diagonally and wrap the edge pixels so that a clone stamp tool or an in-painting brush tool could eliminate visual seams for the repeating tile pattern.
