  1. Hi all, Currently making the transition to Linux (Zorin OS) and Affinity Photo is really the only thing that's keeping me from leaving Windows entirely. I tried VirtualBox and Bottles, but had difficulty getting Affinity Photo to run in both instances. Anyone have an easy solution? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
  2. Hi everyone, can't seem to figure this out. Can anyone help? EDIT: Just figured it out finally. Thanks!
  3. Hi everyone, I'm not getting the results I'm looking for and could use some advice. Basically, I'm taking a large .jpg of a product, removing the background, reducing the size from 2000px to 225px, and saving as a .png with transparent background. When resizing and exporting, the best setting so far seems to be Lanczos 3 non-separable but the quality still doesn't look great when uploading the final version. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the patient and helpful replies.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm still very new and am having an issue with photos exported from Affinity Photo. Everything looks great locally, but after uploading to my website the images look much darker. What am I doing incorrectly? My document settings are RGB/8 and ROMM RGB Thanks so much in advance for the help, I really appreciate it.
  5. Hi everyone, I'm designing a label and need to manipulate the arch of some text to perfectly align with a curved area in the label. What's the best/easiest way to accomplish this in Affinity Photo? Thanks so much in advance...
  6. Is there a way to save an absolute crop size setting as a preset that can quickly be selected (vs. manually entering the values each time)?
  7. Okay, so using the absolute crop tool recommended by Dan is really only for establishing a ratio. Then, you simply use the predefined crop ratio to crop the original and then perform a resize of the original to the desired size. Is that correct?
  8. Hi Dan, thanks for the help! I just enabled the absolute crop tool, entered the desired dimensions, and it created the cropping area. Obviously, it is much smaller than the original image and I now need to make the image dimensions smaller to fit the area within the crop outline. What's the best way to do that? Thanks again for the patience and the help!
  9. Hi everyone, I have a specific canvas size that I'm working with and all images are sized identically. What is the best workflow for the highest output quality? I'm currently importing each photo into Affinity, resizing to get it close to the desired dimensions, copy/pasting the image into the canvas, and then using the move tool to dial in the size of the image to best fit the canvas size. Am I losing quality by using the move tool? If so, what's the better way of accomplishing this? Thanks in advance for the patience and the help, I really appreciate it!
  10. Hi everyone, I noticed that the canvas size being displayed by Affinity is not accurate (changing to 100% is much smaller than the actual dimensions of the image). How do I change this? Thanks so much...
