  1. Oh yeah, this is great news for me and I wasn't aware of that. But it is also a bit tricky to find out, so here's the solution for anyone else having this issue: Open the Export dialog Make your adjustments for size, format and compression Now this is the tricky part: you might have to get the keyboard focus away from the input fields. Sometimes just hitting TAB works but normally this only skips to the following input fields. What works for me is collapsing and re-expanding the "File Settings" section or scrolling down past all the controls and click in the empty area below "Embed metadata". THEN you can indeed use CMD-1, CMD-2 (not on the numpad) and so on to control the size of the preview. In case I missed an easier solution please let me know. Otherwise, the Dev-Team could make this a bit easier to achive on macOS. But nevertheless, thank you for your help! 8-)
  2. Hello Support-Team, Problem: Right now it is super hard to get a real 100% preview in the export dialog of Affinity Photo. All the user can do is to use the alt/option key and scroll wheel. This is very coarse and often doesn't result in 100% zoom level – which sometimes would be really important when exporting media optimized for web and therefore having to judge the side effects of image compression. Solution: Please enable the standard keyboard shortcuts for 100% (CMD/CTRL-0), Zoom To Fit (CMD/CTRL-1), and Zoom in (CMD/CTRL-+) and Zoom out (CMD/CTRL--). Thanks in advance and best Regards, Werner
  3. I also had the slow launch issue (10+ secs) with the Appstore versions of Photo and Designer. Deleted them and all the related data, downloaded the apps directly from Serif. Boom, they're back, fast as lightning! macOS Ventura 13.3.1 Apps 2.0.4 MacBook Pro M2, 2023
  4. Yes, thanks, that's right for key commands. But I'm talking about the (on a Mac) ALT-scroll-wheel behavior to zoom in or out. In many other design apps this is CMD-scroll-wheel and it would be very helpful if we could have to option to change the modifier key from ALT to CMD. Many apps share the same basic key commands to make switching between them easier for the user and mouse-wheel-zooming should also follow that idea. (Maybe the ALT key is called OPT key on newer macs, I'm not sure at the moment) But thanks anyway for your help. 8-)
  5. I know, this issue already exists for a while but this choice of modifier key for scroll-zooming is driving me crazy ever since! Please Affinity, what was the reasoning to use the OPT/ALT key? We all rely on muscle memory in our daily workflows and EVERY other major design app I know uses the CMD key as a scroll-zoom modifier: Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Miro, FigJam. Until I have found out that I can at least disable the canvas rotation, I accidentally rotated so often instead of zoomed. Very frustrating in the long run. And it made life and work harder in the other design apps too as I have to think all of a sudden about which key to use there. Please make "use CMD key for scroll-zoom" an option in the preferences. Thank you, I really like the Affinity apps aside from that.
  6. I know, this is an old thread but this choice of modifier keys on macOS for scroll-zooming is driving me crazy for months now! Please Affinity, why did you do this? We all rely on muscle memory in our daily workflows and EVERY other major design app I know uses the cmd key as a scroll-zoom modifier: Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Miro, FigJam. Until I have found out that I can at least disable the canvas rotation I so often accidentally rotated instead of zoomed. Very frustrating in the long run. Please make this a selection in the preferences, at least for macOS. Thank you, I really like the Affinity apps other than that.
  7. Hi there, here's another question on some odd Affinity Photo file sizes: I have a couple of photos in afphoto format. They all roughly have 7.5 megapixel in 8 bit RGB format and the same layers of live filters applied to all of them. Now some yield a file size around 14 mb and some only 3 mb, with no visual clue why this could be the case. For example there are two photos with large black areas, which could be expected to be compressed very well, but one is 14 mb, the other is 3 mb. Hard to understand. But it gets weirder: I flattened them both and saved them in afphoto format and voilá, both are 14 mb now. Huh? But one was only 3 mb before flattening with all the layers in it? Strange... And even stranger: everytime I save some of the files they gain in file size. Even if I don't add anything to them. So making a layer invisble and then visible again (to be able to hit CMD-S) adds another 1.4 mb to the file. Of course I don't save the history with the document. At least not that I knew... 8-) If I repeat the above steps a few times I'll end up with a file around 22 mb. If I now save this file with a new name to a different location it will be back to 14 mb. Strange all this, isnt't it? I tried to disable the Apple Versions and Autosave features as much as I could on my system but I don't know if this affects Affinity Photo or not. I've been looking through this forum for answers to my little problem but found nothing satisfying yet. Of course I can provide the original afphoto files to Affinity staff members for investigation. And by the way: Affinity Photo is in many ways a fantastic app and I'm glad to have it as an alternative A$$$e PS. Thanks in advance and regards, Arroyodorado
