Hi.
Is there any posibility to merge objects like "merge pathfinder" in Adobe illustrator? Like here :

I want to move away from adobe since it became slow and lackluster performance wise, BUT here is the problem, i dont see any alternatives to Illustrator pathfinder pallette, im doing alot of screen printing and i like to merge my artwork in illustrator and then ungroup it and separate each color to separate layer.
Can i do that in affinity designer?

@hokousai - yes like a live paint option - something easier than creating a whole new shape fill or deleting points.

One thing I liked in Illustrator was the ability to put a different color fill behind the shape with a negative space and then select both and press "merge" - or several other pathfinder options and have it "cookie-cutter" the back shape thereby creating a fill color that fits that negative space perfectly.

When I try this in Affinity Designer, it essentially deletes the foreground shape with the negative space and leaves the back fill shape as it was...

This ability to cookie-cutter a custom shape in illustrator using the pathfinder is used extensively in my work.
Not that I want Affinity to copy adobe, but is there a reason Affinity has not added this kind of workflow?

I'm a laser cutter and crypto artist and I make things like you can see in the attached image.   
I've purchased both Affinity Photo and Designer.
The three main functions I need in any Vector Software are:
Blending between Shapes e.g. from a Circle to a Square with ability to set number of steps in between  Shape Creation Tool as in AI (I see you have boolean operators but these are seriously cumbersome to use in comparison to AI's shape tool) Offset Path e.g. click a path, click offset path (I did a workaround of duplicating my stroke, then on one increasing the Stroke to 20pt then Expanding the stroke, then removing my original stroke/shape away from the new expanded stroke... a ridiculously long winded way of doing it) I've seen requests for these features going back to 2014, which is really quite worrying.  You use to have a roadmap but thats disappeared.
My question is this... are you still working on any of these features so many people have requested?It would be great to see them on a Roadmap...
Can we have some transparency on when these features will (or will not) be worked on?  
I've looked all through the forum for answers but found nothing (apologies if I've missed it) but fluffy answers like "coming soon", "any day now", or "it's in the roadmap"... clearly these don't cut it and date badly looking back at them (somebody wasn't being 100%)... straight forward, honest answers would go a really long way. 
Can you please bring the Roadmap back? (it's at least something)

Want to add my voice to this also. Hope it comes it the next update.

Wanted to add my vote for this feature and wishing for a palette export as well. This, together with the Global Colors feature, would really be useful to have on the iPad. 

A little fun project to stave the boredom away. This pretty little WACO is stationed in Rheineck at the Altenrhein flying museum in Switzerland.
It´s artwork from a picture I took a few weeks back and it was 2D´d in Affinity Designer. The clouds are a mixture of Cloud brushes and Perlin noise in Affinity Photo.
All hail the Perlin noise.

Pattern creation tool/studio is not only important but life and time saving but also will help us create awesome stuffs in less time.
the already existing tools are cool and okay but being able to create patterns from object etc. in a dynamic mode is super cool and shift affinity users in higher places.
Well all this should be done and made in Serif/Affinity way and not drag'n drop of what already exist on Adobe products.

define how the pattern is repeated, adjust the tile size to the graphic, change the width and height of the pattern tile, define the overlapping of graphic elements, create a pattern swatch and apply it to outlines or vector shapes...

I would like to achieve a black and white vector with no white background... Using the Line tool does this... however it creates each pen stroke as an outline with no fill -see screenshot Mode 1 & 2 produce a good result - ie solid black pen strokes - but with a white background - see screenshot   Can I get a visual result like Mode 1 or 2 but with a transparent background? How?

Recently I came across Photopea. Runs in browser: NO INSTALL needed (there is even Chrome app to run locally without Internet access), it is FREE and you have the WARP functionality with a bunch of STYLES to choose from (arc, bulge, flag, shell, ...). Those are forms with handles for fine tuning. Since the option is a little bit hidden, I give you a quick guide:
1) All paths MUST be on one layer (take a closer look especially after importing SVG from AD - you should  merge layers if necessary)
2) Select the layer with move tool (all paths are now inside bounding box)
3) Click on the square handle in the MIDDLE of the bounding box
4) Click the WARP button from the upper toolbar (second from top)
5) Select STYLE from the same upper toolbar and shape your paths
6) Save as SVG and import back into AD
Don't be afraid of the pixel-like strokes in Photopea - those are regular paths.
I have nothing in common with Photopea - just helping AD community with workarounds. On another hand AD staff should bring this basic vector tool asap since this workflow sucks.

LOL, I actually forgot about Adobe until I had a need for a Distortion, Warp, or Perspective distort for a vector project I am working on.  I never realized I would miss them that much. I am very surprised that Serif has not incorporated these features by now.

Off course it takes time,
I am not really complaining. I guess I am very frustrated and disappointed because I really like Affinity Designer and I really want it to be my app of choice for any illustration project I create. This week has been very frustrating when using Affinity Designer without a perspective or warp tool.  Since time is of the essence for certain projects, you can see why I feel this way. I have spent so much time trying find a way to work around this and is not easy at times.
 
That being said, I have been very patient since the beginning of implementing AD into my workflow.  I want AD to do well, and I do appreciate all efforts by Serif to keep making the software better.
 
I know it takes time. That goes without saying.

Any Distortion, Warp, or Perspective distort features soon?  This year?  Any date release?  I need to know if I need to change apps.
What is everyone else doing to get around not having Distortion or Perspective distorts in Affinity Designer?

If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry.
This beta is an incremental update to the 1.8.2 version recently released to all customers (though it installs parallel to the release). We recommend that you use this beta in preference to the store version if you are affected by any of the issues listed below.

Another iPadOS user here that would love to see Publisher make its way to the tablet.
Considering taking the plunge and dropping Adobe in favor of Affinity, but being able to lose the laptop would absolutely seal the deal.
