True, but the fact that after seven years autotrace has not surfaced it certainly gives that impression.
I installed my old version of CorelDraw (X8) to use its tracing. I find that after tracing I then start editing in CorelDraw as well. I now have more .cdr files than I do .afdesign!

Yes, but there is nothing better than having this feature built into the affinity software like Adobe Illustrator has. 
I would pay extra for affinity to have it built in.

I just want to say that this feature is really missed, and I would advocate to implement this feature in Affinity Designer! Please, make this wonderful programs "complete" out of the box, without the need for extra tools... Is there at least a roadmap or a statement when / if the feature is coming? The community is longing for it...

I think there is enough want for this to make it a plugin with additional charge. I seriously wouldn't mind giving Affinity or anyone MORE MONEY just so I can avoid having to use a free program as terrible as Inkscape... or pay $295 for Vector Magic... or $636 a year for Adobe.
Like, why not support third party plugins if we want something more advanced?

Yes, vector magic is not only more expensive, but it does nothing else. Only vector conversions.
With Adobe Illustrator you can create vectors and also do conversions.
 
AD really needs this feature to compete with Adobe.

Off course it takes time,
I am not really complaining. I guess I am very frustrated and disappointed because I really like Affinity Designer and I really want it to be my app of choice for any illustration project I create. This week has been very frustrating when using Affinity Designer without a perspective or warp tool.  Since time is of the essence for certain projects, you can see why I feel this way. I have spent so much time trying find a way to work around this and is not easy at times.
 
That being said, I have been very patient since the beginning of implementing AD into my workflow.  I want AD to do well, and I do appreciate all efforts by Serif to keep making the software better.

LOL, I actually forgot about Adobe until I had a need for a Distortion, Warp, or Perspective distort for a vector project I am working on.  I never realized I would miss them that much. I am very surprised that Serif has not incorporated these features by now. 

That’s a good tip. I am to try these steps and see if works with my workflow. It would be nice if the pattern layer would accommodate the affine feature automatically. That will make it more automatic like in other software. I can see this pattern layer feature get better as updates are made. It’s a step in the right direction.

Creating and editing Global Colors feature on iPad would be so beneficial for us. It could increase the productivity tremendously in my opinion. Please, consider to develop this feature. Thank you!

I'm not aware of more changes/improvements here but this is indeed a good suggestion. I wouldn't mind to have it as well. As you noticed, we do not support PNG8 with alpha transparency (as Fireworks did) in Affinity apps. For now the best is keep using external apps/optimizers. Eventually we may end up supporting other (newer) formats which provide a good alternative to PNG's as WebP.

This is bad news

Due to a sudden financial hardship & the fact that my seemingly less useful but free Shapes brush pack has made more money! - I have decided to make the Mega Brush Pack Pay What You Want.
 
This will allow people to see if they find it useful before committing to giving anything for it.
 
Another way to help would be to share this around where it is allowed.
 
I do believe this pack can be of use to many of you as the brushes have a very wide range.

When? It has been a while since Affinity Designer has been out. I am surprised that these essential features have not been implemented by now.
You can’t really compete with Adobe Illustrator without having these basic needs. We should at least have a perspective tool with Free Transform by now.
