  1. Hi Gabe!

  2. But I will give you some Information for bug testing as you listet in Bug Reporting.

    1) I updated to the newest release version from version 1.7.1

    2) It was reproducible until deinstalling updated version and reinstalling 1.7.2 from apple App Store.

    3) It was happening on a new document after doing frequency separation. with each newly added layer it slowed down more and more

    4) Operation System: iPadOS 13 Beta 5

After opening developing the 4000x6000 pixel raw file and applying frequency separation AP slowed down more and more with each additional added layer. I have had expected that this would not happen because in the last RC it didn't happen. And after deleting AP and reinstalling AP 1.7.2 from App Store the problem didn't showed up again.

I hope this helps to evaluate the problem.

  3. I am sorry to post into this topic again. But obviously it haven't helped to log this with your developers. I have just tried it with the new 1.7.2 release and it crashed again after some minutes trying to create an Tiff (16bit RGB) export. It starts to be frustrating to report this issue again and again and do see any changes or even to don't see it solved.

  4. Hi Gabriel!

I did the complete beauty retouching like listed in the AP Workbook.

    1. komplete RAW Development

    2. Frequency Separation with Layer Grouping and rep. brush

    3. new pixel-layer skin tone with color brush and gausch blur

    4. new pixel layer for lights recovering with color brush

    5. dodge/burn layer with 50% gray filling and dodge/burn with dodge/burn brushes

    6. duplicated details layer set to 25%

    7. new pixel layer filled with 50% gray and with 25% noise

    within new group

    8. new pixel layer for new lipp color and Gaus blur

    9. new pixel layer for eye makeup and also with gaus blur

    10. new pixel layer for eye brows with gaus blur

    11. new pixel layer for eye optimization with gaus blur

than taking visible together to one combine layer for sharpening (masking)

one new layer for lights correction, midtown correction and shadows correction

when finished resize picture to 40x60 cm

and than documents --> export --> tiff 16 Bit (16 bit RGB) with LZW or ZIP compression.

The issue should already be mapped with the dev team with an sample picture with layers in an other post to this topic. I have reported this already for the previous Release candidate but it didn't got done yet it seems.

Here the link to the other post:

where you replied to have it logged to the Devteam Gabriel. Sorrily it seems that they haven't corrected this issue yet.

  5. Yeah I read it. the other thing is that AP needs more and more RAM the more huge layers with a lot of information you add and keep visible. And when memory runs low AP starts to move to and get from disk what slows down. I found today a lil bit of workaround for this problem When finished one adjustment layer merge visible layers and only keep the combined layer as huge active layer. that reduces the memory fingerprint and speeds AP up.

  6. Hopefully you will also get the Saving/Exporting problem in the next build to go. Saving an unsaved picture with a lot of layers, 9 within group and 3 out of group, (4000 x 6000 px) causes AP on iPad to freeze and if you restart AP you no longer can open the picture or save it. And when you try to export it as tiff 16 bit with layers AP crashes after 2 to 4 minutes of trying to create the export.
