  1. Thanks. I know understand. Have read the fine manual, too.
  2. Thanks Old Bruce, but I do not understand your answer. Can you point me to the proper manual pages please?
  3. I must be missing something, but I cannot click and apply some paragraph styles Base…Titel, yet I can click and apply Categorie…NoStyle. Wonder about the difference between with/without ¶ symbol. I am clueless.
  4. Thanks. I try to avoid kludges. Way too much maintenance. I’ll just wait for some future version that supports it.
  5. Thanks. I’ll wait for the official support (and generate some HTML that will do the trick).
  6. TMO, this toggle behaviour should be worded better in the UI as well.
  7. I need to create paragraphs with the text aligned right and the bullet to the right of the text (see image). Say, a mirrored bulleted paragraph.
  8. 🙏 IC. Thanks. I was confused on whether it just turned it on only or toggled its visibility.
  9. Thanks for the quick reply. I think I’ve not made my need clear enough: I want to TOGGLE the baseline grid’s visibility, not just turn it on only. Also, showing the Baseline Grid Panel does not solve my keyboard shortcut need.
  10. I find myself needing a keyboard shortcut like ⌥+⌘+’ to toggle Show Baseline Grids, just like ⌘+; toggles the guides and ⌘+' toggles the grids.
  11. 16 page Publisher document. Insertion point in text on page 15. In Page 14 in Pages panel: pop-up menu: Duplicate Page. Page 2 gets duplicated. Same happens when Option-Dragging page 14 to a new spot.
  12. I’ve tried all of that, and then some. Anyway, I think I’ve fixed it. ¶ style says: Bullet » Text: [no change] (see attach 1). When I change that to: » \#. », it works (see attach 2) Seems like a bug to me. In general I continue to have some mental/conceptual problems with these quirks around first/left indents, tab stops, and numbering. Thanks for your quick replies. Really helps me and makes my day. Lowers my frustration level, too.
  13. What I’ve got is (see attached). No tabstops defined. Same contents. First ¶ different from second ¶. I cannot get my head around it. When I manually enter tab in 1st ¶ beginning of line, layout gets even weirder.
  14. I’m completely stuck and baffled. I try to create a legal document from scratch. Slate as clean as possible. Reproduce: Create ¶ style “Article”: Normal + Left indent: 48 pt; First line indent: 0 pt; Space before: 12 pt; List: Number; List format: 1; List character style: "Lead In"; Initial words: On; Initial words end characters: –; Initial words style: "Lead In" Create two paragraphs with this style: 1st ¶ fails to have a tab between number and lead in text (see attached) No clue on how to fix this. Please help. macOS Big Sur 11.4. AP 1.9.3.
  15. Wish: numbered lists with leading zeros (e.g. to have the section number in a big black font with two digits (00, 01, 02 … 10, 11, 12 …)
  16. Ah, great. Thank you very much. I’ve also cobbled together a little command line that lists all my InDesign files using SpotLight’s metadata: mdfind '(((kMDItemContentTypeTree = "indesign*"cdw)) || ((kMDItemKind = "indesign*"cdw)))'
  17. How can I best migrate all my InDesign documents to Affinity Publisher? My license renewal for Adobe Creative Cloud is approaching in August, and I’ve recently bought the Affinity suite for iPad en iMac and want to migrate all my InDesign files to Affinity. I don’t want to get stuck alter on to be needing InDesign to save or export an InDesign doc in a special way for Publisher to easily open it. How to best approach this? I’m aware of Publisher’s excellent PDF import, but maybe there are better ways. Also, what are the best settings for PDF export in InDesign to assist Publisher importing them? Plus, is there a good way to batch convert or export InDesign files to secure maximum compatibility oath Publisher? Please advise.
  18. Thanks for your reply. I agree it is a bug. As a (former) software engineer, I would say that any character must be allowed. Also, I find that systems and software must adapt to human needs, not the other way around. Plus, from a technical point of view, allowing the basic ASCII character set is a bare minimum, I’d day. Thoughts?
  19. I cannot select and apply a specific paragraph style from the Text Styles window. Insertion point is set in running text. I click different text styles and the paragraph restyles accordingly, except for ¶ Body +.
  20. Right, thanks. How about the bottom of the column? The boxed text now flows back to the bottom the previous column, extending its lower part over the column boundaries. Is there a comprehensive page or guide that assists me getting my he'd around this (and mold my mental model accordingly)?
  21. At times, when I hover over some text, I cannot set the insertion point—Publisher shows the resize-left-and-right cursor instead. When I start dragging left and right, the column width changes. I have to move over and hover over some other text before I can set the insertion point, and then have to arrow key my way to the desired point.
  22. When I zoom in a current selection often wanders out of sight, beyond the window’s edges. Wish: selection’s center is centred in the window as soon as it’s falls over the window’s edge.
