Yes, we will be providing MSI installers to customers who require them. This FAQ will be updated with links to MSI downloads when they become available.
    Yes. These are now available

I imagine there were maybe advantages to switching to the Microsoft App Installer (.msix files).
However, for the user, the problems have increased:
There are many who have problems being able to install the packages. For example, it took me hours because the packages from Serif did not run for me. Only after downloading them directly from the Microsoft Store was I able to install them.
The next problem is the integration of the new programs in others. Now you can't find an .exe file which is accepted by other programs.

This is a stupid move by the developers. I own my PC, it is not a phone or a tablet and I want to control what goes on the PC and where it goes. I didn't spend time setting up partitions and drivers for fun. I have a particular drive for programs and that is where they go or they don't get installed - end of!
Version 2 is now uninstalled and I will never buy another Serif product until they fix this. The reason I went to Affinity suite in the first place was because Adobe ruined photoshop by their subscription/online nonsense.

WolframH reacted to Zero Zero in Extremely disappointed that this installs as an "App" and not regular software program
Just bought the Suite and could not find the installation files so was unable to create shortcuts and worse unable to find a way to run the software! The only way I could launch the software was to double-click on the downloaded installation files which gave me the option to Launch from there. Total irritation and confusion.
However in the meantime after much faffing about through the Forum I discovered to my dismay that these are "App" files and do not install into the Program folder of my C drive and do not appear in my Programs & Features... How do I uninstall them?
I absolutely hate this unexplained change to installing/removing software and am not happy with the way this has been implemented, particularly as no advanced notification (as far as I could tell) was given.
I very much like what Serif is doing with Affinity and love the software but cannot stand this insane change to the standard installation procedure.
Please Serif fix this unwanted installation mess asap. and please retain some independence from the dumbing-down that Micro$oft continually applies to Windows in the so-called attempt to make it better.
    I sincerely hope you listen.

Is there a way I can create forms in Affinity Publisher and export them as a pdf file that can have editable fields.  I know it can be done with Adobe Acrobat, however I do not want to support Adobe anymore, that is why I changed to Affinity.

Maybe it is how I create the afdesign-Document? I am not sure which one of this possible cases it was:
Corel Draw -> pdf -> open with Affinity Designer -> create Artboard Adobe Illustrator -> open with Affinity Designer -> create Artboard But thank you for your workaround.

Interesting. ArtBoard and Document have different sizes. When I copy the content of ArtBoard1 to a new artboard, delete ArtBoard1, save and place everything looks normal.
And the question is: Why are there two entries in Artboard dropdown for Document AND ArtBoard1?

WolframH reacted to Paul Mc in Hidden P SEP characters on the clipboard (Publisher)
We are using Publisher as a discussion document for a new website design, for layout, copy, images etc. and it is working very well.
I'm now tasked with copying text from the pages in the Publisher document into the web page design software (Netbeans) and I'm encountering the following strangeness when viewing the published web page in Chrome:

Sprinkled throughout the text are these P SEP boxes which appear where there are paragraph breaks. I'm just using a select text, copy and then paste in the other app. This is a non-printable Unicode character that is not visible in most editors but can be deleted if you know where they are. There is also an L SEP box but I'v not encountered any of those yet.  Is there any way I can avoid these characters being included on the clipboard?

WolframH reacted to walt.farrell in PDF passthrough is rasterised
You can't edit the PDF file if you use Passthrough because editing requires the PDF to be Interpreted. You need all the fonts, etc. just as if you Opened the PDF.
It's not rasterized, it's just that Passthrough is preserving all the contents of the PDF file so it will flow through the Publisher processing unchanged into the final output.

Can you provide a PDF for us to look at that shows this? And also, ideally, a .afpub document where you see the problem?

    Hi @WolframH,
you can select the desired preset in the export dialog(ue). It lets you choose from a wide range of PDF presets.

Very odd. Those PDFs are fine. What happens if you delete them from your original afpub file, and simply re-add them? Does it still crash?

Yesss! 😁 This is the solution. Perfect, thank you all for the help. Affinity Publisher put this feature already in beta-version 1.9. It works perfect!

Once you have the TOC created, each entry provides an anchor, and you can navigate using the Anchors panel (View > Studio > Anchors). Just click on the anchor of interest, then click the "go to anchor" icon on the lower left of the panel.

@WolframH, thie QXP list feature isn't available in APub.
The QXP list feature is akin to MS Word's Navigation panel. It can be used for both TOCs, pdf bookmarks etc., as well sa jumping to varios locations withing a document.

The text styles in Affinity Publisher certainly support lists (see, for example, the Numbered 1 and Numbered 2 text styles), but I'm not not sure how that relates to navigation.
Can you give more of an example of what you want to do?

    2. Start a video.
    3. Open the Code-Text (Vivaldi-Browser it is STRG+U )
    4. Searching for https://vimeo.com/  (STRG + F)
    5. Copy each link into 4K Video Downloader
    6. Let run the 4K Video Downloader the night
