    Vector Assets for InkBrush Project
Added a mixed set of vector patterns to supplement Inkbrush Project 07 containing:
    Geometric pattern textures (Red)
    Organic pattern textures.(White)
I was going to add these into an asset library but the compound paths may be a bit too large...So I have done it the old way as 'letraset sheet'

AD 1.7 file contains 2 pages consisting of 50 vector patterns created directly from inkBrush sets for Geometric and Organic Brushes
    Sample images as below
    Enjoy!

In my recent tutorial, Creating tiles using Affine, especially of Leaves, I explained how to create tileable images using dead leaves (or any other similar object). I show here a selection of such tiled images, with four such tiles grouped to produce a seamless image.
Before the tiled images, here is an example of a real patch of leaf litter taken just by holding the camera vertically of the woodland floor:

This is an example of a composite image of leaves to recreate a leaf-litter-like tiled pattern:

The following four images are each based on a single tree species, using about twenty leaves of different colours.
    Firstly English Maple Acer campestre.

    Next Cherry Prunus avium.

Now a garden shrub Guelder Rose Viburnum opulus.

And finally a strange Chinese relative of the conifers, the Ginkgo, Ginkgo biloba.

I have used these to form the basis of a set of table mats.

    1. Regarding copy and paste
On the top toolbar there is an icon on the right called "Insert Behind The Selection" which when pressed will make your next paste command paste the layer below the one currently selected.
This option can also be found in Layer > Insertion > Behind
With a bit of lateral thinking you can assign a keystroke to the above option and replace your normal CTRL+V (paste) keystroke with a Paste Behind key sequence.

    2. When dragging a layer down keeping your cursor in the space to the left of the layer icons will prevent you accidentally creating a child layer - it's just a learning curve

I have produced a pdf version of the Affinity Photo manual that you can read without starting the program. It can be interesting to put it on your phone or tablet to read when you have some time to spare. Since the file is too big to upload here, I have put it on Dropbox for you to download. It is current for the last version of Affinity Photo. Comments welcomed. Here is the link:

Project Brush Set 20 Pattern Brush Sets
Updated the brush set to version 2
    Changes/improvements as below
    Version 2.0
    1. Removed old versions redundant now..
    2. All nozzles are now vector based replacing previous raster versions (as much as possible)
    3. Replaced some of the older Base Patterns with some organics (set 04)
    4. The old brush set was appearing darker and less intense with 1.7/1.8 update...I have fixed that with this version!
    5. Updated the Sample sheets to latest layout (included ref to updated/new patterns).
    6. Organised the sets into groups of 30 (Group 01 x4)
    7. Added a generic set of brush Nozzles for texture variation (These are repeated across all sets)
    8. Included sample sheets of base patterns
    9. 19 new base textures
Archived the Older Brush set and updated Library information

    Hi!
I think it would be very helpful if I could see all of my activated text across multiple pages when the text frames are connected. Right now, if I press cmd A, I can see text activation in the text frame of the currently focused page but when I scroll down or up to other pages with linked text frames the text is not activated.
    Thanks,
    Frank

Hilltop got a reaction from walt.farrell in Split Spread to place borderless or full-page photos.
This issue is partly addressed in the video 'PDF publishing for pro print': https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/publisher/desktop/video/337466797. Publications are presented to the printer as a set of individual pages, not spreads. During export  to a PDF file creating bleed for central gutter areas on both pages (of 2-page spreads) is automatically taken care of. However, this requires overlapping graphics and not images or vector objects that are placed exactly at the center gutter.
