  1. Your work and generosity are just amazing, Stuart! Even if I might never use these assets, thank you for putting a big smile on my face! ☺️
  2. So, that's another reason for wanting global layers. With all these advantages, it seems to me that the introduction of global layers in Publisher is probably on Affinity's roadmap.
  3. Thank you for all the explanations, thomaso! They clarify the concept considerably. Question: It seems that 'true global layers' also useful (necessary) when creating multi-language publications; is that correct?
  4. Go to View and select 'Show Context Toolbar.'
  5. Thank you. Those give really nice effects!
  6. Congratulations on getting a book on Publisher out. It looks pretty interesting and quite extensive with all the training materials to be downloaded. Too bad it's not in English, though....
  7. You must have customized the Tab key because the standard operation for this key is 'Toggle UI' (show/not show all menus, toolbars and panels).
  8. Whatever the cause of the confusion, some changes in the terminology will be helpful.
  9. Confusing indeed. It might help to rechristen 'Styles' and call it something like 'Object Styles'.
  10. I have a workaround until such time that the panels can be opened through, e.g., buttons on the toolbar. I like all studio panels to be visible and ready for use, so I created two additional panel clusters and placed them in the empty space at the top of the UI. I made the panels in each cluster of the same width so that the header bar's size won't jump left and right. This assures that the panel names always remain readable and that there is always enough space left on the header bar to double-click to close the then open panel. Be careful though not to click on the 'X' because it will close the complete cluster. You can reopen the cluster again in Studio by selecting the relevant panels one by one. They will appear at the same location and be of the same size. It would be nice to be able to lock such panel clusters.
  11. Yes, perhaps we're getting a bit off-topic but I agree with what you're saying.
  12. What I see happening in this thread seems to be a reflection of two different kinds of user experience with Publisher. There are the users who are really versed in its workings and then there are those who are relatively new to the app or who are not yet fully familiar with its workings (quirks & features). I belong to the second group and feel at times frustrated as well because learning to master the app is often not a very intuitive process. I find the UI rather sparse and too much layered, and hints and feedback on operations are hardly provided. Despite the fact that the app feels very solid and well thought out, I find it a bit too 'dense' to easily explore and get to know it. This also applies to Photo and Designer, which I also own. Let me also state here that I appreciate @walt.farrell enormously for his professional -- i.e., knowledgeable, patient and evenhanded -- and voluntary support, as well as Affinity staff's responsiveness.
  13. The suite of three apps is already pro (but still in 'early' development -- version 1.x) and is competitively priced. That's why I and so many others joined the Affinity project. Fundamental changes in marketing and development strategy at this stage might not be appreciated by the presently loyal user base.
  14. Go to https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/ and log in via 'My Account." Click on 'Downloads & product keys' and scroll down to the 'Iconic Fonts'' download button.
  15. Thank you, Stuart! You are so incredibly creative and productive.
  16. Thank you! I like all three of them. Very useful.
  17. They look very nice and useful. Thank you for sharing them!
