If you accidentally delete any presets you can get them back by holding the CTRL key down when starting APhoto and in the dialogue box that appears just select the Reset Adjustments option.
Thank you for that tip. Didn't know about it and couldn't find it in the Help file.

I see. I added a default style to the various categories. You're right though, a simpler solution would be welcome.

- Styles: easy to apply - but how to remove them?
Click on the hamburger icon on the top right of the styles panel and select Remove Category.

That's a Publisher option, but not a Designer option.
Oops, I was about to correct my post but you beat me to it.
I must say, it's difficult sometimes to keep track of the different functions and features in the different apps.....

I'm astonished, and not a little disappointed, that there is no way to show hidden/invisible characters in Designer.
Go to Text on the menu bar and select Show Special Characters.

I work exclusively with the document grid, but when it is at the forefront, it interferes with viewing. Tell me, is it possible to make the grid in the background?
To toggle the grid on and off, use this key combination (Windows): Ctrl+'

@AndyQ Sometimes a workaround is the only way to go forward.
I'm sure the brushes will get some more attention from the devs but probably not any time soon.

I've just been looking for this; a way of setting the brush angle so a stroke can be applied to lettering to emulate a calligraphic pen.
You can change the 'Rotation' setting to adjust the angle. You can also do this with the left and right arrow keys.

With these simple hatching styles you can hatch your vector objects in Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo. Affinity Publisher Beta seems not working yet (previews looks strange on my machine).
Thank you, Norbert, very nice and useful!

Any news on updated 'how to' tutorials please as there is no sign of a work book?

Why would anyone want this behaviour? It's called a 'first draft'
Not many and I'm sure it will be addressed in an upcoming update. Until such time workarounds will have to do.

Elements will not shift automatically and you wouldn't want that to happen anyway because you placed them purposefully. You may have to add a page or make adjustments (resizing, deleting) to some of the other elements to make room.

Rather than using Pinning or Inline objects, I think using a simple text wrapping on this object will provide the best results in your document, as this will allow for greater control of the object, allowing you to control where it goes within your main paragraph, and how much text it shows after the object before the next line.
But what happens to the added object when other text is added to the body? Doesn't the object then sit in the wrong place as this isn't linked to a particular position in the text?

Aha, I see. Would indeed be a nice feature.

Thank you, smadell, but I somehow cannot wrap my head around the approach and example you present here. I will need some time....
