Same here. We’ve been begging for an improved (larger) UI font for almost TEN years… hopefully this decade we can get the feature or at least a NeuraLink implant might be available faster, idk…..

This is a good move, in fact, I would like to see this in other windows too, specifically the Text Wrap window in Publisher. I use this quite a lot and having to open and close it is quite annoying.

And let’s not forget that you can also use velocity to set ‘pressure’ (ahem, profile) values. Improving naming/labels here would go along way to creating a consistent mental model of what all these tools are doing. Defining the line/curve width profile.

One other thing to consider is renaming the 'Pressure' graph in the Stroke panel to Profile, as it's not always reflective of what controller/data (velocity, pressure, etc) is affecting the width profile of the stroke. Also, the Stroke pressure graph itself has a button labelled 'Save Profile', so simply renaming it to profile would make it much clearer. Then adding a 'Profile' attribute in the Attributes panel (see my previous post) to indicate strokes that have profile data applied would make things much clearer for users. 

The profile controller (see above) in the pencil tool can be set to velocity, pressure, etc, while the Stroke profile graph (see below) uses inconsistent language with the profile graph always labelled 'Pressure', with the 'Save Profile' button confusing things further. Using consistent language and labels will help user understanding.

@Ash, it’s great to see support added for this format of fonts. Will this new font support upgrade also feature support for single stroke /centerline fonts used in CNC applications? Single stroke fonts do not define glyphs using a perimeter outline filled with color, but by a single path (just like handwriting) to define the centerline of the letterform, with no outlines around the glyph.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE include support for this font format. It dovetails perfectly with the new DXF support. I can’t use ANY affinity apps for typography bc support for single stroke fonts is missing….

Having no offline help at all = Bad
Having both = Good
I get that there are benefits to having an up to date online guide on every feature, especially when it gives additional context to how they can be used. That said, I agree with fde101 that it's a bad idea to scrap offline Help. Even I as a long time user of Affinity sometimes open up the current Help guides to find simple descriptions of specific features I haven't used in a while, since they aren't always easy to find on the interface. The Help section doesn't need to be full of videos and highly descriptive tutorials for it to be useful. Just as a simple lexicon can be useful, offline Help should remain for such a purpose.

  If you have reported a bug and it is not yet fixed, please do not report it again. More fixes will be made during the 2.5 beta cycle.

The contour from the line width tool isn't automatically carried over to additional strokes that have been applied to a line/curve, making it difficult to create an outline that matches the existing line contour. It is possible to select the another stroke and set line widths for it (which is very nice), but being able to apply the existing line width settings applied to additional strokes would also be helpful.

Thanks for those settings - I have now reproduced it and I can reproduce it is when I have 'Use Precise Clipping' enabled. I suspect that is likely disabled in both your 2.4.1 builds and Publisher?

I'll get this added to the original issue you reported and updated to reflect that.

Accordingly, shouldn't that be in the Feedback forum as it is not for this beta?
In any case, since these fonts are constructed by center-line strokes, when this is done, please consider leveraging that fact by allowing brushes to be applied to them (for those not doing CNC work, anyway...).

Within grid and axis settings you can now set any of your grid settings to be the default, meaning any new documents will have that grid set when first created.
You can set / clear default grids from the burger menu next to the grid preset drop down:

There are a few other minor improvements to mention in 2.5:
1. Some new cameras have been added to LibRAW:
FujiFilm X100VI Leica SL3 Pentax KF (Rioch) Samsung Galaxy S23+ Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Sony ILCE-9M3 (A9 III) [improved] 2. As was requested in a few places before and on the last beta, when you have "Transform objects separately" checked and have a multi-selection, if you type a value in either the width or height field and precede it with an equals sign (e.g. H: '=100px') then it will set all objects in that selection to have that specific width or height value entered. This is opposed to scaling the other objects in your selection proportionally based on the key object which is he result you get without the equals sign.
3. DWG polylines import improvements
We have made some substantial improvements when importing polylines, which now ignores the cached points which AutoCAD creates. This simplifies the resulting curves substantially.

We are adding variable support to 2.5 but is still going through some final internal testing. This should be available in a beta update next week.

FWIW, if you have Affinity Publisher you can also use File > New from clipboard if you switch to the Designer or Photo persona. I have often wondered why in APub that item is not available in all 3 personas.

Been tied up with other business so have not been staying super close on the newest changes. But using the last 2.4.2 beta and release, I can no longer stretch the hyperlinks window in order to actually see and edit the url. Same in the beta and the release. 
Is this a known regression? Makes it very difficult to add/use hyperlinks. (macOS)

I've just poked the file some more and found its down to using semi transparent gradient stops in the Gradient Overlay FX with Artboards.

Does the issue go away if you delete the artboard and keep the objects? Also can you attach a screenshot of the Performance section of the Settings dialog for the affected apps please?
How does the Navigator Panel render as well?

Because the issue you're seeing looks related to the way things are being rendered, and having different monitors of multiple resolutions and scalings have caused rendering issues within the app. There were many variables as I said based on where the app window was, and the screen the app was started on that caused the rendering to be different so I want to try and rule these out.

There was an issue that was causing Effects to be output incorrectly to PDF and the Export Preview was representive of this. The only way you would have seen that in the main window, was if you was importing the exported PDF back in, which I assume is not what you're doing?
Have you tried opening this with external monitors disconnected at all or on your iPad as I suggested please? Also are you able to attach a video recording of the whole screen from a fresh launch that demonstrates this please?
 

Global Styles is what we need to dynamically encompass all object attributes globally, ie: fill, stroke, FX etc…

I use Toon boom Harmony alot and I find their use of creating straight lines intuitive. I've also seen this tool in Procreate. I hope this can be implemented soon to better workflow
I wish there was an option to create straight lines in the paint brush tool that dont follow across the x or y axis. Such as in Perspective Drawings

Here is what a pressure sensitive brush looks like using the shift key to create straight lines. As you can see I have alot of control over the pressure 

Here is the same brush using the shift effect for diagonal lines. I have no control over how it will look and It creates this really faint lines. With harmony you can hold the shift button and drag your pen across the canvas and the computer will connect your start point to where your brush is until you let go. It also allows for pressure sensitive brushes as it doesnt assume the lines pressure.

If you often make borders colorless in the designer, it is a hassle to switch from fill to border and press the colorless icon.If there is a button to make the border and fill colorless, you can use it without switching.

Add the ability to set global gradients so we can modify the gradient once and have it cascade rather than reapplying the gradient swatch over and over again.

I was not thinking of this as a true CAD interface, such as engineers use, but more for people who need a reasonable amount of accuracy but at the same time a drawing that looks good. The looking good part eliminates most CAD programs.
 
For instance, I'm a landscape designer and I need to be able to draft out a clients landscape plan quickly and easily but then, because the drawing is in part a marketing document, it needs to look terrific. This is where Affinity designer's capabilities really shine. Once the client approves the design it's back to drafting to create more technical drawings like layout plans etc.
 
I think there is a similar workflow for other professionals who are using Affinity designer to make plans for things that will be created in another medium.
