  1. It would be nice to have an artboard feature in Affinity Desinger. I think hope the people at Serif don't make the same mistake Adobe did with Photoshop. Letting Photoshop lose its own indentity, if you ask anybody what profession should use Photoshop nobody could give you a clear awsner. Adobe is totally lost with Photoshop, I don't say it's a bad app but feature wise they have no idea what to add and for whom. Lots of web designers and ui designers have used Photoshop for so many years but you see them more and more switch to Sketch. I think Sketch rocks at ui design there isn't any better app just because it fits so well for the job. Adding artboards in an app like Photoshop or Afffinity Photo would be useless in my opinion.. Adding them into Affinity Designer it could work pretty well.
  2. Yeah I would also like a grey ui. I think they are working on that as we speak.
  3. When you already have gotten the invoice of Apple iTunes Store you can click at the second link behind the Affinity logo and ask for a full refund without questions asked. It's App Store policy. I don't agree with you story but everybody can have its own opinion of course.
  4. Hmm strange, now it's there... The day before yesterday it wasn't there I know for sure, it probably was out doing some grocery. I think I need glasses.
  5. The Free trail version will probably be back when the 20% discount is passed.. The Affinity Designer page still has a Free trail app for download, the Affinity Photo page doesn't have this option.. Probably because of the discount. To be honest you can just buy the app the Mac App Store and if you don't like it you have 14 days to ask for a refund without questions asked by Apple or the developer. I think this is a very fair policy made by Apple, I have used it a few times before and it works very well.
  6. Hello guys, I have a question, at Dribbble you often see animation artwork show up. It's becoming very populair to be honest, there isn't a day going by without a .gif animation in the most populair lists at the Dribbble website. Something like this for example. http://drbl.in/pmAW With all due respect to the designer of this artwork, this isn't the most difficult artwork to create if you know your way around with vectors + an animation timeline. I believe this can easily be done with Illustrator but I often read people don't call it animations anymore but motion. I also believe people are creating this sort of artwork in Adobe After Effects as of late and my question is... Is there some sort of vector animation software out there in the same ballpark/quality as Affinity Designer and Photo. Some software that is going places and almost comes close to Adobe level software. I can't use Adobe software, it's too expensive for me. Everything I do is just for hobby and the great thing about Affinity software is that it is affordable for anybody - even if you only use it a few times a month.
  7. This time a very small request.. In Affinity Photo we have this cool divider option in the Tools panel but in Affinity Designer it's missing. I would really like to have it in Affinity Designer as well. Thanks.
  8. In Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator we always had the option to change the size of your layer thumbs. I really like bigger thumbs.
  9. The Media Manager right now is a standalone window. I think this will get very annoying over time, if you leave it open all the time it will always be on top of the content and you'll be moving it around all the time. If you close it after each image - I think it's a little hustle to re-open it by shortcuts or OS X menubar only. Maybe it's a good idea to give the Media Manager it's own call to action button at the Affinity Photo Toolbar or maybe it's own pane inside the Studio panel. Right next to the Stock pane.
  10. I would really like the option to double click on the Zoom tool in the Tools panel on the left side to bring back your view to 100%.
  11. Is it me doing something wrong or can't you pick any color straight from your artwork? I mean look at my attachment. What if I need the grey color from the helmet, how do I get that, looks like there is no pipette available. I've also look inside the Tools panel but can't seem to find it. Anybody?
  12. Thank to you all to those who has reached out to Lynda.com and asked for support on this. I've done the same so let's hope we'll see some courses in the next few months. Some other source isn't an option for me, not right now at least. I've been using Lynda.com for years now and it's so great. Maybe the pro's among us will laugh about it but I really learned a lot from their courses. It's easy to follow, professional, straight to the point and most important you get to feeling they're just human like yourself. I've also seen a few WordPress related courses of TeamTreeHouse but it wasn't great in my opinion, it's really dissolute to follow because they are trying to hard. They are so over the top acting like they have to complete with Robert De Niro. If your native language isn't English you simply have to focus a little bit deeper at what's being said to follow a course and understand everything. When you have a guy like this making hand signals like he does and trying to articulate? so perfect and sharp you'll get lost an unfocused within a single minute and you're more focusing at him rather than what's being said. https://youtu.be/SpiOaJFD9Rg
  13. Maybe this is a bit silly to ask but I'm a real fan of Lynda.com and the way they teach people how to use software with essential training video's. Is there maybe some opportunity that the Affinity people can reach out to Lynda.com and provide them with a top designer who knows Affinity Designer inside out. I would really like to have some sort of training course about this software. Tutorials are create and very helpful (thanks) but I think when you really want to start doing things right you need a solid understanding of all the settings, tools and layouts before you can start creating stuff.. I bought Affinity Designer at launch day and to be honest I haven't got the most out of it. When I see video's like this show up at Vimeo I feel like really stupid not knowing such a great feature is part of the app and I'm not using it. When someone professional teaches you all the essentials you can't miss out on these features and will never forget to use them because they become part of your workflow. Thanks, Edit; changed feature to future in topic title. Edit 2. Update, released. http://www.lynda.com/Masking-Compositing-tutorials/Affinity-Photo-Essential-Training/453344-2.html
