  1. For this one I had some help from @A_B_C creating the design pattern behind those circles but I created a WordPress plugin to show your Apple Activity data at your WordPress site. It's all still kinda work in progress right now till I have my site foundation setup, but I hope to create my own blog about getting back into shape again and starting with running outside. It's kinda fun.. You can check full page preview here
  2. Guides work globally through your artboard so you can move your objects around and see the snapping/alignment lines of almost any object in the artboard. The measurement tool only works inside groups (folders) which makes perfectly sense when it comes to web and app design because you'd never group 30+ objects into a single folder like you would for example when dealing with icons. See my example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRd38Vpaz1g&feature=youtu.be
  3. This is going to be a super cool project, just playing around for a few hours..
  4. Look at you being all sexy with Affinity Designer... This will help big time, thank you!
  5. I've tried to create the same sort of effect by adding styles and a round gradient but the problem is you can't do the 70% out of 100% and leave the 30% greyed-out. This examples shows 100%. I'm trying to create those Apple Watch activity chart circles.
  6. This is maybe crazy but this very old Illustrator video shows something kinda complex in a easy to use workflow but when I try to do the same thing in Affinity Designer it's for some reason totally not possible. I can't create a brush from objects? * skip a little through the intro talk..
  7. Thanks guys, I today bought a brand new Wacom Intuos Pro Medium for only 175,- ( 289,- new in stores ) Looks like Canon had some sort of deal last month when you bought a professional D5 or D6 camera you got a Wacom tablet like this as a gift. Now those customers start to receive their Wacom gifts and selling them online because they don't want to use the Wacom. Nice deal. :)
  8. Does swiping work in Safari to navigate back and forward on a Wacom tablet? I've seen about all Youtube unboxing and install review movies about the Wacom Intuos series but none of the reviews mentions anything about the Wacom touch fields acting like an Apple's Magic Trackpad. At this moment I use a Magic Trackpad and I really love it for navigating in OS X. Drawing and editing photos on a trackpad isn't as nice as it should be, you can't be fast and precise at the same time so that's why I want a Wacom tablet but if the default OS X gestures like swiping don't work at the Wacom touch interface it's useless to buy one. I really would like to buy the Intuos Pro medium tablet because of it's 'classic iPod' kinda wheel - from what I can see at Youtube this is really key but I can't spend 300.- on a Wacom Pro tablet to have over 2000+ pressure points if it can't do simple two fingers swiping to go forward and backwards on pages.
  9. I've seen a YouTube video about a Huion tablet but are those tablets for real or just cheap China rip offs from the Wacoms?
  10. How does Affinity software work with Wacom tablets? Are there any known early release bugs or is it all okay, can you increase or decrease the brush size with the scrolling wheel or is it too early for those kinda features? I like to buy a Wacom Intuos Pro medium but those tablets aren't very cheap so I like to know if I get the most out of them when using with Affinity software.
  11. Don't underestimate Sketch because they are fairly new and it's just a two men job behind the project.
  12. Nice to see more and more professionals get Affinity software running.. |_ :)_|
  13. How can you not love those Affinity guys.. This is what I was looking for... Next, the ability to resize the layer thumbnails. I always like it if you can make them a little bigger.
  14. +1 And it's time to remove the auto-zoom system. Every time you open a new document or you make a changes to an already open canvas Affinity Photo automatically zooms the canvas based on your monitor space. If you're working on a 27 or 29 inch monitor it's so annoying to open smaller images and every time press CMD + 1 to zoom back to 100%.
  15. Yes, perfect that works like it should. Next question, the Resempler setting shouldn't it remember my last taken option to use that same option by default next time around? Right now, it falls back to default 'Nearest Neighbour' option so I have to manually switch each time I resize an image.
  16. Don't know if this is asked before or it's a known issue, but... Before Affinity Photo I used Pixelmator to resize ( CMD + Option + I ) and/or crop all my images and that worked pretty good, when I switched to Affinity Photo all the images I resize look a little weird. I feel like there is something wrong with the entire pixel-calculating scaling script inside Affinity Photo or something. Just a simple example of this happy guy, he loves his job. Nice, this default image is 143px by 219px. So let's say the image is a little big and I need to scale the height -100 pixels down. Here is the result in Pixelmator. ( 78px by 119px ) - the guy is still happy and looking sharp. This is the result in Affinity Photo ( 78px by 119px ) - Affinity Photo just gave this guy a Bluetooth headset + look at the entire rendering of this example, his arm/elbow or eyes, that's not right.
  17. Vroom vroom... Stunning illustration.
  18. Will the Beta versions of both apps keep going on the forums in the future? I often used those topics to see what kept the developers busy and what I could expect from the upcoming update(s). I'm so excited and happy with Affinity Photo that I feel like a child in a candy store at this moment.
  19. +1 I would also like to see a Timeline and animated .gif export feature in Affinity Designer at some time. Same story for a bitmap -> vector trace feature. We will keep those developers busy. :D
  20. Thanks, I've tried Hype 3 before, it's bad. They had a great promising start with this app but right now it's just overcomplicated and their exports are totally not lean and mean. Creating a simple object and letting it slide from the left side to the right includes about 140Kb JavaScript into your project. Thats not me, I like to keep my projects lean. Google Webdesigner (Beta) is a for better app for what Hype tries to do, but again it's made by Google which keeps me on a fair distance to be honest. https://www.google.com/webdesigner/
  21. This is a perfect example of how artboards can really work well in Illustrator or an app like Affinity Designer. Affinity Photo I wouldn't like it at all. http://drbl.in/pnNY
  22. I heard rumors Affinity Publish ( InDesign ) would be up next ;) And that Apple would release new iPods today, and an iPad Pro later this year.. and that my cat is pregnant.
