Marjolein reacted to loukash in How can I switch a brush stroke back to a regular stroke and still use pressure and expand stroke?
select all curves you want to change Brushes panel > Pens > option/alt-click on the topmost "Solid Pen with Pressure" adjust average stroke width as needed, the original stroke width and the pressure will be retained Layer > Expand Stroke voilà It's not a "problem". It's how the tool works. Sometimes you may actually want exactly this kind of tool.
The actual problem is that apart from the aforementioned "Solid Pen with Pressure", there are no other true vector brushes. In other words, it's a missing feature, not a "bug" or something.

Marjolein reacted to Leigh in How do I create a Desktop Shortcut for Affinity V2 apps?
If you purchased Affinity V2 for Windows directly from the Affinity Store, you will have downloaded an MSIX package. You will notice when installing Affinity V2 you will not be offered the ability to create a Desktop shortcut. This is expected and is down to how MSIX packages work.
However, you can manually create a desktop shortcut after installation. Go to Start > Run and enter Shell:AppsFolder and press OK - This will take you to a folder where you can drag and drop a copy of the Affinity V2 shortcut to your desktop.

Now with DWG/DXF Export this is becoming even more important. I haven't upgraded from V1 yet, but I will once this happens.

The Affinity programs are the best out there. This is not really a question but a comment. Can Affinity make and affinity animate program? This would be really helpful and would be great. They could add a timeline, frames, onion skin, and other parts of any animating software to the already created affinity designer.

Marjolein got a reaction from mco in Scaling line length - Designer as a basic CAD application
There is a CAD addon for illustrator. It would be nice to be able to draw in scale in affinity. One could draw and transform afterwards but.. it is a very needed option that would be very favorable for Affinity Designer and would lure many customers, since it's easy to pattern and make very beautifull 2D presentations

Please dear Affinity Designer Team, we really do need help on that!
Also when we do import a pdf, Affinity seems to group objects and lines in random groups. This is horrible to work with!
If it would at least group by color, line witdh etc. you could handle it. But like this you go crazy. All under tons of random groups and subgroups...

Great guys!! Thank you so much!!!
Please consider also people who have to work with dwg/dxf files and technical plans.
We can all together find an intelligent way of making it happen or find good workarounds/workflows.
Architects & Designers are an important group of clients and potential clients.
Affinity Designer is a wonderful piece of software, we all do love it. That's why we care about integrating it into our workflows and marekts!

Select same by colour fill, line colour, lineweight, etc...  This is a very BASIC function!  Its not even a feature.
This was requested in 2014 and still not implemented?!  Are you kidding?
Basic productivity and workflow is important to any professional.  Simple software that does simple things well.
Come on Affinity - you have had 4 years already!

Select similar is essential when supplied complex plans that haven't been organised into relevant layers - otherwise it can be a nightmare selecting things.

This feature would be essential when cleaning files that originate from CAD software. Those tend to have amazing amount of lines and objects, many of them fully redundant.

Signed up to add my name to this request...
Trust me, nearly every architect and architecture student uses Illustrator to give their AutoCAD .dwg proper lineweights and hatches, and it's not because Illustrator does this well. It doesn't.
Please give me an excuse to switch. I've already abandoned PS and ID for Affinity products, please help me cut the Creative Suite cord!
I had the software loaded in my cart today until I came here to discover it wouldn't do this. I just can't reasonably buy it without it.
Thank you thank you in advance.
PS if anyone has tips on a workflow even with an intermediary I'm all ears...

Yes, a +1 for that option. I need to clean plans and was hoping affinity would save me much time. Guess I'll have to resort to another program
